Pam is part of a unique transport program that's designed to save lives. When most babies are born, it's a time of great joy, a celebration of life. The majority of the time, there really are no medical difficulties. There have even been an increase in home births because of advancements in prenatal care. But what happens when there is a medical emergency? A premature baby. If the child is lucky, he'll be delivered in a hospital that specializes in critically ill or premature infants with what they call a neonatal intensive care ward. If he isn't so lucky, he may be born in a rural hospital, and the prognosis would be dead. But since six months ago, those infants can be transported to one of six intensive care wards in Baltimore. It's part of a statewide program that's based at Baltimore City Hospital.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144679/file/267429#t=73.57,137.53
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144679/file/267429/transcript/77546/annotation/7
Speaker 6: After delivery, the baby did not breathe by herself, had only a heartbeat. But instead of singing it as a hymn tune, they sort of dressed it up and it went to the top of the pop charts. And there's folk gospel. Any of the folk songs sang during the 60s when the folk singing was so popular, you can take them right now, dress them up, and turn them into a gospel style. An example was Michael Williams' show, Come By Here, which was in Africa. It was cooed by Yas. Then you'll have pieces that are called rock gospel now. Gospel artists are using now the same instruments that many rock artists use. So it's kind of hard to tell them apart in some cases unless you're really listening to the words. In fact, I would dare to say 3 fourths of your black artists who have made it big in rock music started out as gospel singers. Thanks for watching!
