I guess with the tightening of the jaw, the clicking of the jaw. And Senator Pinckney had done a Healthwatch report about a new machine that was out. It was called a well, it was a computerized jaw tracker. They put this device on and then they could look at your jaw in 3-D and watch you move it around. And they could figure out exactly if you had TMJ, whether you had some other problem and whether your jaw was just sort of misaligned. It's a big, big problem these days. Big problem. TMJ is the other story we talked about going into the break was a C, w, J, which is the Caleb W Jones, a skipjack that had sank in the Chesapeake Bay and had been brought back up and rehabbed by a bunch of local people. And this was the day they brought her out and let everybody see her before they launched her. And I said to Sharon, I said, you know, some every time they get in a fight and he leaves the house, Janice Gill probably thinks to yourself, here comes another number one hit. I just wonder if she I just wonder if they don't accidentally start fights each other every once in a while. Just get a number one hit. That's every time. Seriously. In this morning's Medical minute, just what is an underwater rip current? Health reporter Sandra Pinkney explains. Hello, everyone. Have you ever been swimming in the ocean and been knocked over and pulled in by undertow? Then you know how frightening it can be. But according to the US Lifesaving Association, undertow is not as dangerous for swimmers as underwater rip currents. Rip currents happen when water moves swiftly seaward, usually in currents, not more than 10 to 20ft wide. They are hard to see and may happen even in calm looking waters. A break in the wave pattern or discoloration usually caused by sand can help you spot rip currents if you get caught in one. Don't struggle, swim with it, but try to angle out of it or just ride the currents seaward and as soon as possible turn and swim to shore outside the current. He gives up a safe seat in Congress, and he and old friend Mickey Steinberg would probably cancel out each other's votes and hand over the primary to Paris Glendening. One other thing. Cardin's a cautious, low key kind of guy. It's why his first bid for governor went awry. In our news this morning, a powerful earthquake struck southern India overnight. An estimated 4000 people are dead. More fires in Baltimore city last night. Firefighters battled to a large blaze downtown. Also, a big crackdown, drug crackdown in Annapolis, Maryland. State police on 24 hour patrol. Still, 638. I'm just sitting here looking for some for some current ten. I think we could safely say mid-forties right now for conversation purpose. It's a brisk morning. It's going to be a brisk day. Take a look at some temperatures around the area. Right now, we're looking at 53 in D.C., 48 in Ocean City, Cumberland this morning, 50 degrees, the gateway to western Maryland, the Hagerstown at 51 degrees this morning.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136331/file/252913#t=4111.91,4227.51"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136331/file/252913/transcript/71105/annotation/42","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Here's the East Coast satellite photo. Local radar at last check show shower activity in and around the county moving towards southwest Baltimore. Here's the deal. I think you're not going to be free of showers for the next two and a half, three hours free of clouds. Hopefully we will be about 1:00 this afternoon with some sun. We'll go to a high of 60 this afternoon. It's going to be a chilly day and I call this five day later this half hour. Don, thank you. You're about to do your drive. Don't until you've heard Whitaker on the way to work. Go ahead, Chuck. All right, Don. Good Thursday, everybody. No major problems right now at the Harbor Tunnels, but we do have an accident on the south side. It's on the ramp from northbound routan to the inner loop of the Beltway. And that accident vehicle now apparently has made it off to the shoulder. But if you're coming up from and around county in the Pasadena Sun Valley area, watch for that. And as we mentioned, tunnel traffic is clear with all the lanes open, maybe a 1 to 2 minute delay at the plaza Beltway traffic, for the most part is quiet. We aren't getting word of an accident. Back to you, Don. Thank you. 639. Now in the news this morning, an estimated 4000 people are dead after an earthquake that rocked southern India earlier today. The quake hit just before four in the morning India time and registered 6.4 on the Richter scale. At least three aftershocks above the belt since. The death toll is expected to rise because reports from about a dozen villages are still expected. It is the most devastating earthquake in the Indian subcontinent since 1935. In local news, another night of fires in Baltimore City and two large fire broke out around 130 this morning in a three story building on Parker Street near Saratoga. The flames and smoke spread to all three floors and took firefighters about half an hour to bring it under control. No one was hurt. It appears the building was vacant. The still under investigation. City firefighters were also busy earlier in the evening battling a big blaze aboard the USS Coral Sea. The three alarm fire broke out about 5:00 aboard the World War two vessel, which is Dr. Baltimore Harbor. Two firefighters, four hours to get it out. The huge ship is being scrapped and investigators think the fire began when heat from blowtorches ignited insulation and wood inside the hole. One firefighter was treated for dehydration, but no other injuries are reported. The aircraft carrier arrived in Baltimore in July and is to be dismantled over the next two years. And there was one more fire overnight at a church out noise Mills, Baltimore County. The one alarm blaze broke out just after 11:00 at the Mt. Pleasant AME Church on Tollgate Road. Ladies and gentlemen, the John White. He was working his way through college when a Channel 13 film crew caught up with him on a local construction site. It was in Pimlico. And I was a carpenter's helper trying to make a few bucks get through college. But I didn't know anything about carpentry. I was probably the farthest thing from a master carpenter you can imagine. They said, Do this. Go get those board pushes up. I mean, a carpenter's helper didn't have to be highly skilled. That was almost 30 years ago. And just recently, the Channel 13 cameras caught up with him again. Okay, good. Moving Well, he's the tennis pro at the Hunt Valley Golf course. Naturally, a lot has happened between now and then. But first off, John told me he is a Baltimore boy. Yeah. Born. Born and raised. Northwood Govan. John was what everyone would call a nice kid. But as George Bauman pointed out in his old documentary, John rode a motorcycle irresponsibly as a teenager on a motorcycle. Or is it John Wayne is a motorcyclist? The fact that I rode a motorcycle was purely economical. Later on trips through Canada and whatnot, it was my preferred mode of transportation. Great for camping in the summertime, John said, his own 12 motorcycles all together. So I asked, Do you recall anything about that first? Yeah, it was a Honda Super hot 305 as I remember.
