Or you learn from the Maryland Science Center's Julie Hutchinson. Just what's in our water in the harbor. We can sometimes see the results of pollution, especially out in the bay. We can see a baby duckling that has died because it is eaten, something that has some poison. Then it starts floating away. I think that people are becoming more aware. And it's a balance and I don't think it's going to be a passing fad at all. A day dedicated to the Earth is the same day we saw cups and glasses and wrappers left behind. That makes Alan Bronstein fear a short lived Earth consciousness. I think a majority of the people, unfortunately, are just after today, they're just going to forget about until next year when it all starts up again. And it's it's a shame. Will it be next year, that year? You know, will there be an Earth Day, 1991? The last one was 20 years ago. So I want to separate my trash. But they don't pick up separated trash where I live. I mean, this is the harbor and they're sponsoring all this Earth Day stuff. Why aren't there trash cans designated for the dip? Or as someone is going to go through all these and separate it later? Now, Sandra, whatever the case may be, nobody's saying it's going to be easy. Thomas sat out all of 1988 due to surgery on his knee. But came back to gain over 1300 yards in his senior year. Seattle made a trade with New England for the third pick and selected Cortez Kennedy, a defensive tackle out of defending national champion University of Miami. The fourth man to go was Alabama linebacker Keith McCants to Tampa Bay. Numbers five and six were from the USC Trojans. San Diego chose Junior Sale, a linebacker, and the Bears took Southern Cal defensive back Mark Carrier. The second quarterback chosen was the seventh pick overall. Heisman Trophy winner Andre Where from? Houston goes to the Lions. The Redskins first selection didn't come until the second round. The 46th pick overall. The Skins dropped in on Linebacker U. And selected Penn State's Andre Collins, who some experts rate as one of the best linebackers in this year's class. Okay. Local interest centered on Maryland quarterback Neil O'Donnell. He was picked by the Steelers in the third round.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136674/file/253388#t=2982.82,3079.94"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136674/file/253388/transcript/71538/annotation/29","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"The fifth quarterback selected and the 17th player overall overall. Singer Richie Havens was around during what he calls the First Peoples festival, Woodstock. He said earlier today that the key to saving our planet lies with the children of today. Tonight, he ordered Baltimore with a blast from the past. Every program is saying something. So we are, in fact, educating the first generation on ecology and environment, the very first.
