Don't forget to freeze your underwear. Of course I do that. Yes, of course. Doesn't everybody? Of course, why not? One way to keep cool, drink lots of nice cool liquids, this helps. And play with your roses in the rose garden, that's a nice way to recreate this time of year. Lots of roses right now, and if you like roses as much as a lot of people do, I love roses. You're invited to an exhibit of 700 roses by the Maryland Rose Society and the Chesapeake Rose Society. It's going to be held at the Savings Bank of Baltimore's main office downtown. Thursday and Friday, 830 to 530 on Thursday and 830 and 330 on Friday and they'll have some members of the society to tell you all about roses, how to grow them, how to care for them. Beautiful roses, beautiful roses, thank you very much. This is the kind of weather roses like warm summer weather but they also need lots of water so if you have roses make sure they get plenty of water. We had warm temperatures today up to the low 90s once again currently under sunny hazy skies, 88 degrees. 41% of our humidity, a little bit higher than it was yesterday, winds out of the east at around 6 miles an hour, the barometer 30 inches. Now the air stagnation advisory that we're under, this is one of the reasons, our air quality this afternoon jumped into the poor range, the highest it's been all year, 130. Yesterday it was about 92, so it's risen quite a bit, and it will remain rather stagnant for the next 24 to 48 hours. They are tied. Sunrise 540. Sets 834. In the evening. In fact, it will remain this same pattern in the next couple of days until we get into summer. And then the days actually get shorter from June 21st on. They actually start getting shorter. A great day to be sitting in the shade somewhere on this lovely bench by a beautiful oak or elm tree, if there are any left in the city. Nice warm day. The shade was the place to stay because the temperature is in the low 90s. Above normal, by the way, our normal high is 83 degrees. So we're almost 10 degrees above Let's take a look at radar. There's some weird goings on, it's kind of hard to see this, but there is a thunderstorm right over here. It's around the Denton, Bethlehem, Maryland area, and Ridgely, Maryland, area, Carolina, Queen Anne County, right around here. It's not, it doesn't seem to be moving anywhere, but it's a pretty well-developed thunderstorm, and I'll show you that in the satellite. Also some showers down here in Virginia. One little thundershower seems to be developing just to the north of Baltimore County line in southeastern New York County and southwestern Lancaster County. No movement with this storm. Also, we're on the D.C. Area. A couple of clouds beginning to build up, perhaps a little shower there in the next hour. Let's take a look at that satellite and I'll show you those showers on the eastern shore. There's the one thunderstorm, there it is, right near the Delaware-Maryland line in the eastern part of the eastern show of Maryland, east, northeast of Denton and near Bethlehem, Maryland, thanks to a caller who's celebrating his honeymoon today. He called me and said, it's raining over there. There it is. There's a thunderstorm right there. No real movement. Further west, some pretty good showers and thunder showers over southwest Virginia and into West Virginia, and then a funnel system out to the west. This front has some showers and thunderstorms along it, but it seems to be dying out right now. Let's take a look at tomorrow's map. Tomorrow's map will show us that that funnel system will have moved a little bit further east, as you can see, approaching our region, but seems to be weakening as it moves a little further east. Looks like high pressure over the eastern half of the United States tomorrow will dominate the next two days, and behind that, another ridge of high pressure out west. More warm temperatures, slightly lower humidity later in the weekend, and a chance of some showers or thundershowers with this front as it moves through the area on Friday and Let's take a look at the state map right now. Temperatures generally around the 90 degree mark, the upper 80s, however, only in the upper 70s down in Ocean City. That's nice and cool down at the ocean. Thunder showers out to our west. Winds tomorrow variable, 5 to 10 knots. Here's our forecast for tonight. Just generally clear, hazy and warm, lows 65 to 73 degrees. For tomorrow. Hazy sunshine, and a little bit more humid than today. 92, low to tomorrow night, 72. There could be a thundershower tomorrow, especially in the western portion of Maryland. But good chance of some thunderschowers here Thursday afternoon, and on Friday also. Kind of sticky. Good for the roads. Looks like a head of state here.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149176/file/273801#t=1328.87,1575.94
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149176/file/273801/transcript/80228/annotation/62
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149176/file/273801#t=1576.54,1576.54
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149176/file/273801/transcript/80228/annotation/63
Speaker 6: roses throw your roses let him eat cake that's what I said absolutely all right Robert thank you very much well gentlemen for the class of 83 the big concern is finding a job but in this week's segment of Oprah's people Finding a job is not one of this graduating class's concern.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149176/file/273801#t=1578.85,1594.05
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149176/file/273801/transcript/80228/annotation/64
Speaker 27: It is one of life's most memorable occasions. Jim Palmer will be available out of the bullpen tonight. And O's will announce who they're sending down to Rochester about an hour before game time. Now last night, the Orioles held off Milwaukee 3-2. O's got all their runs in the third with one swing of the bat. Cal Ripken, Homer off, Don Sutton with Ford and Sakata aboard made it 3-0 Orioles. Brewers, though, got one back in the fifth. Cecil Cooper with a liner that just drops in front of Al Bumbri. This one scores Rick Manning from third, and that made it three to one. Top of the ninth, Paul Molitor leading off against Tippi Martinez. Crash is one into the left field seats. That cuts it to three to two with one out. Yown and Cooper then single. Ted Simmons bounces one to Cal Ripken. He goes to Cicada for one to Murray for the big double play. And that was it. Tim Foley's bloop single falls between three White SoX fielders, scores two runners, two nothing. And the fifth, some shoddy fielding led to an Angel run. One Benique Sackbun is booted by Tony Bernisard. Bernisar then throws wild to third. Rod Carew easily comes in to score. And the Angels go on to win a 7 to 4. In St. Louis last night, the Phils beat the Cards. Pete Rose's base hit puts Philly up 5-2. They went on to the win by the score of 6 to 2 at Shea Stadium. The Red Hot Cubs beat the Mets 7 to 3. Big night for Jay Johnstone. Two doubles, two RBIs. This one scores Ron Say, puts the Cubs up 2 to 1. They went onto win 7 to three.
