Looking down from the satellite starting last night around 1030 or so, a real distinctive frontal system with that pattern of clouds marched right on through the area. Very much drier air behind it. Today was such a pleasant contrast compared to Thursday and Friday of last week. But notice high clouds that we saw around during the day, no real threat. Those are sort of typical when we have these Canadian air masses move in fair weather cumulus behind them. But another frontal system headed in this direction is the basis for our thinking that there will be some showers, certainly a possibility of showers during the afternoon hours tomorrow. Scott Solak in two terms for 18 to 17 to Clemson, the task for Navy today was to try to beat 11th ranked Virginia, but the Cavaliers proved to be too much for the mids. Virginia quarterback Shaun Moore had a huge day. Virginia rolled their third straight win, 56 to 14 ou Sean Moore led the Cavs with four TD passes midway through the first quarter. He fires on a line to Herman Moore, who takes it in from the 1545 yards in all seven nothing. Virginia still in the first quarter they just rolled over over Navy next possession. Virginia looking for more. This time Sean Moore on the option takes it himself steps high in the end zone made it 14 nothing And folks the wrap was on. There was no let up after that score this is the next possession, the very first play. Watch. Moore used nimble footwork to evade the rush, sling the ball downfield into triple coverage. Completes the pass to Derrick Dooley made it 21. Nothing in a very long day for Navy. The final score was 5614. The sounds of God Bless America had greeted the 282 passengers, American hostages, mostly women and children, and 171 foreigners fleeing Kuwait. Among the crowd, 25 year old Thomas E Wald of Greenwich, Connecticut. Released after his mother wrote a letter to Saddam Hussein. The fact that it was a note from mom is a little embarrassing. I just don't show them. That's all right. Yeah. Anyway, we did have a frontal system move through last night and it did clear out the humidity from last week. And it was so soggy and actually rather dismal on Friday for the most part. But a beautiful day today. And it's going to stick around for at least another half a day. So let's recap how the satellite saw these conditions develop. Starting oh, this first frame at about 430 this morning, the front well defined by that pattern of clouds pretty much right on top of us and then moving on through and behind it. We did see some scattered puffy clouds throughout the day, but no real threat at all. The kind of thing that very typically does follow a cold front, but also moving in now coming across the Great Lakes at the present time is another smaller system. And this front has some even cooler air behind it, which will eventually arrive along about the beginning of the week. But as this front pushes by tomorrow afternoon, we have a possibility of some showers and certainly seeing a little bit more in the way of cloudiness during the afternoon hours tomorrow. Now, our temperatures right now in the mid 60s in the central part of the state. 60 degrees down in Salisbury and actually the low 50s now 52 at Johnstown, 58 at Martinsburg and 57 out in Pittsburgh tonight, which will probably get in the Baltimore area down to the mid-fifties ourselves. So very definitely feeling like early autumn winds in the bay tomorrow will be variable in direction at 5 to 10 knots. Now, our national radar shows looking for some showers. The frontal system itself now extends along the Carolina border and having triggered some pretty good showers off of Cape Hatteras.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/115328/file/219143#t=2544.83,2640.41"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/115328/file/219143/transcript/62332/annotation/26","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"And here's that second system traveling down through the Great Lakes. It also is being effective at the moment and producing some showers and hence when it gets here tomorrow afternoon, we also have that possibility of showers. The humid air mass, though, still down to the Gulf of Mexico. And on our wider view, satellite. Notice the contrast in the clarity of the air mass down with the tropical humidity, which we saw last week. Still very definitely along the Gulf Coast with the afternoon showers that have developed. And here comes our little system again, the secondary front up moving through the Great Lakes. And that will bring us that threat of showers tomorrow afternoon. Still a continued flow of warmer air out into the west. And as the front shows on our forecast map, by this time, say the dinner hour to early evening tomorrow, that front should be pushing into the Maryland region and passing by. But what's going to happen after that is this system will hook up with the old system and form a very large low pressure system up in eastern Canada. And what that's going to do to us on Monday is keep us in a good bit of cloud cover. By then, the cooler air will be in place. But we do have a threat of a shower. So Monday is going to be definitely cool, probably in the 60s for the most part for the high temperature in the 60s, but also with the threat of showers and certainly cloud cover. Rest of tonight, though, looks like this. We're going to stay under mostly clear skies with a breeze that is with us. It'll settle down a bit. All in all, rather cool getting down to the mid 50s, 56 degrees for our expected low tomorrow, starting out with a good bit of sunshine early in the day through the morning hours, but giving way to clouds as we get toward midday and an afternoon shower as possible.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/115328/file/219143#t=2641.19,2738.93"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/115328/file/219143/transcript/62332/annotation/27","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Say any time after like 1:00 tomorrow afternoon into the evening and nighttime hours tomorrow, 75 for a very pleasantly cool high. I felt, you know, we moved the ball and, you know, I guess scoreboard that shot that deep down thought I did. We should have more points, there's no question about that. Was just a great team effort. And we come up on the short end, I guess, against a pretty good football team. Beyond that, I don't know if there's a whole lot more that I can say. We made some plays and we didn't make some plays, but I think that's great. I love this football team. Okay. An emotional Joe Curry back after the one point loss to Clemson today.
