Public viewing of the casket will last until the funeral today at 7 p.m. Eastern time. Every president to serve since Nixon will be in attendance at the service in this morning's medical unit. Any teacher getting three unfavorable ratings in a five year period would lose certification and find his or her job in jeopardy. Immediately, we hear from the Maryland State Teachers Association in tones of outrage, declaring this would reduce teachers to probationary status for the rest of their careers. Well, here's a news brief for the union people. We're all on probation all the time. That's the way of the country you produce successfully or you move on. We are now into our second generation of watching the public schools fall apart. Much of this has to do with conditions outside the schools, but some of it inevitably has to do with what happens in classrooms. For the teachers union. To deny that is to rob itself of credibility.
