The outer loop is already rubbernecking. As you might expect. Delays will begin between Edmondson and Frederick and that southbound back up is what we're concerned about. We'll probably start to see some backing beyond the ranch from the interchange at Route 40 and maybe back towards I-70 in the next 15 to 20 minutes. So be prepared for delay on both sides. And northeast Beltway quiet right now on Parkville 2083. Southbound is clear this morning as you come down from Hunter Valley and the overnight construction work on the JFK actually is wrapping up all the lanes. Should be clear just about now between North Avenue and the Maryland Avenue ramps. 1 to 2 minute delays at the harbor tunnels and the trip, all 95 is clear down towards the airport cutoff in Carroll County. Also, members of Solomon's family said they were pleased with the outcome, while the bosses declined comment on the sentence. But Pam and sister said their lives will never be the same. Members of the Baltimore Homeless Union and the ACLU are. Suing the city. They say Baltimore is trying to keep the homeless out of tourist areas. The lawsuit calls for the city to turn on more water fountains and add additional public restrooms. A spokesperson for Baltimore's Downtown Partnership says it's their organization's policy to help the homeless on downtown streets. Americans may claim to be more health conscious in the 90s, but the truth is in the candy shops. A new survey shows that's where many of us spend much of our time and money. The national Confectioners, a confectioners association, says Last year we set a new sweets record attempting to satisfy our sweet tooth with an average of 21.2. What they do is they break up the large bubbles that cause that embarrassing sound into small ones, which aren't so embarrassing. Of course, some people aren't embarrassed by it. The owners of G Tech and Scientific Games, Inc. want everybody to think they gave $40,000 to the National Governors Conference just because they're good citizens. There is a simple explanation for this, which is they think we're all idiots. G Tech happens to operate the Maryland State Lottery and wishes to continue. Many were infuriated when G Techs current contract was extended last winter to cover the new Keno game without having to submit new bids. Thus we have the old boy network in its classic mode. The other day, Governor Schaefer slipped and said he might drop Keno. An hour later, he changed his mind. Somebody must have reminded him. Remember that governor's conference? Remember the G tech money? This is the way the political game is played routinely. The only difference here is that the money was so open and the political connections so naked. Okay, so back back in the 1800s, they were there when you didn't go to your you didn't go to your your your got a logical practice. Your own bees. You were pretty much on your own when it came time to deliver. The midwife would come to your house. Right. Unless you have to have lots of money then you might have a doctor. Actually, they were considered very good because you had to realize how large the lump came. And they actually lived about six weeks after the surgery and it wasn't go ahead. But because of that acid cast, the forceps used to pry child's right down the thumbs not to go out there. But you also have books. Books. Of course. Well, this one I brought a specially for you. In the news this morning, life without parole is the sentence for Rodney Solomon. That's the penalty a Baltimore County jury delivered last night after deliberating for almost nine hours. They came up with this decision. Solomon was convicted of the carjacking murder of Pam Basu. She was dragged to her death last fall in a crime that shocked the nation. After the sentence was read, Solomon blew a kiss to his mom and left the courtroom. Members of the Basu family did not comment on the sentence, but would only say nothing would bring pan back and that their lives will never be the same. Governor Schaefer is asking for federal support for farmers hit hard by this summer's drought. The governor wants 15 Maryland counties to be declared disaster areas. The counties include the entire Eastern shore except Cecil County and seven other counties. Maryland farmers have lost an estimated 30% of their crops because of the drought. The disaster aid would make them eligible for emergency funds and low cost loans. It's now 644. Lack of culture Lack recreation facilities? Why live in a city withering in decay? Why bother about Baltimore at all?
