After months of anguish and worry, the father of Chris Weathers is now offering a reward for information. The nine teams. David Murphy reports. He just wants to know the truth about his son. This is the story of Chris Weathers, a young Crofton man who apparently fell in with drugs and the wrong crowd and who may have paid for it with his life. Chris, his father says after a final phone call in September, he believes his son was murdered. He said, I took his money and I spend it. And I said, what do you mean, money? He said, Well, I just took money I was supposed to take and I spend it. And if I don't pay it back, they're going to kill me. As part of our weeklong series on Cholesterol, Health Watch, reporter Ann Kellan will be testing your cholesterol IQ. Tonight at a special medical minute quiz. We'll see how much you know about what produces cholesterol in our bodies. In our medical minute, we begin our weeklong cholesterol quiz. We first start with a look at where cholesterol comes from. True or false? All of the cholesterol in your blood comes from the food you eat. The correct answer is false. There are two sources for the cholesterol in your blood, the food you eat and the natural cholesterol your body produces. The liver is responsible for producing nearly 1000mg of cholesterol a day. It is possible your body will overproduce cholesterol, but that can be lowered through medication and diet. In most cases, however, the cholesterol your body produces is at a level needed to maintain a healthy metabolism. The liver also helps to filter out cholesterol. It's what we eat that we have to pay careful attention to foods such as egg yolks, fatty meats, whole milk, dairy products there are high in cholesterol and saturated fats like coconut and palm oils that will raise your blood cholesterol. That's our cholesterol. Medical Minute. I'm Ann Kellan. I think you have to get up too early. Clean up your windshield tomorrow morning like this one, and it's all good. Thank you, Bob. Tonight, Baltimore is turning into a skate land as Countdown begins for the opening of the US figure skating championships. All this week, we will be covering this big event. We begin tonight with Don Scott, who tells us the arena is home to hundreds of the world's greatest skaters and thousands of the city's best volunteers. Figure skating is, of course, the most graceful of all sports, warm or cold. Every person that you see is a volunteer, mostly because of the traditions of the United States Figure Skating Association. This is a tradition. They believe in supporting it through their time. And they feel that time makes makes more of a commitment than money. And as you can see, not all the labor is alongside the ice. After all, someone has to stuff the 50,000 plus programs. But some spots are more skating related and manned mostly by skaters. Is that another reason you're here? Because you get to see it? Yeah. Right. Well, I actually I have my ticket to my all event ticket and other tickets for Sunday afternoon. And the volunteer pass is great because I get to see the practice sessions, which are always the most exciting. Remember, we talked this weekend, the storm track, how close the moisture was going to get to. All right. We got a few flakes. The airport, a trace of snow, but this morning we had some freezing rain. And my question to you is this What causes freezing rain? Have you got an answer for me? Think about it. What causes freezing rain? You said it, didn't you? I may have. It's warm air up above. So when the rain comes down and the ground is colder, it freezes when it hits the ground. Fantastic. That's not it. That's absolutely not it. It's when they forecast two inches and it doesn't get here, they call it freezing rain. Well, maybe that's a better answer. We have warm air aloft above freezing. So you have liquid precip. It falls down and it freezes on contact. And we had just had a trace this morning. I mean, just a tiny drizzle. We had warm air this morning and that's what caused the freezing rain right now with a west wind and northwest, when we do have colder air aloft and the colder air aloft would support snow. If we get the moisture up here, it's going to be very light even if we get any at all. So I'm not too concerned about anything major. But take a look at our cloud cover. You can see precipitation and cloudiness down to our south. We're still kind of in a squeeze play. The jet stream out to the west with a lot of moisture coming in off the Pacific Ocean all the way through the Midwest, caused some snow. In fact, up to six inches of snow in northern Indiana today. With phone calls, parents and everything else that they're doing and the liability is dangerous. The Toronto County school official I spoke with agree that there is a serious need for health care professionals in the schools here. But she also said that funding is a problem. We only have so many dollars and it's always been a question of just what level of quality of service we can afford. And the State Department of Education says that Anna Rondeau is not the only county without regular full time nurses in every school, Garret Kent and Allegheny Counties don't have them either. But back to the Anna Arundel County example. School officials say the county health department has now agreed to provide funding for as many as five nurses. However, Sandy Klinenberg, the mother we talked with, feels that that's not quite good enough because there are 119 schools in and around the county. Right. I was about to ask you if the Arundel situation was unique, but apparently it is. No, there seems to be a problem with inconsistency.
