I think there's a chance we might eke out a dry weekend here in the central and especially in the southern part of Maryland. North of us in southern and central Pennsylvania, there's better chance of some showers. And in western Maryland, you may have some overcast skies all weekend long, and the risk of some shower is practically at any time. They're already getting some showers right now around Martinsburg. They're close to us, but they're not moving this way. They're kind of running up toward Pennsylvania. All right, speaking of things to do this weekend, I'll get back to the weather in just a second. The Dundalk Community College having a Spring Arts Festival this Sunday from 11 to seven. Included in this Spring Arts festival is the Maryland Jousting Associations Tournament, and it's gonna be at one o'clock. As you can see, they sent me a little jousting. Earth here as you can see real joust that's right imported joust having a reptile world automobile exhibit uh antiques and face painting and the whole works and dr john's world championship frisbee show should be a lot of fun and that ought to be good on sunday at dundalk community college okay let's take a look losing some of the joust here take a look at our current conditions it is under let's call it high thin overcast 76 degrees humidity 43 percent. The winds out of the south around 12 the problem to 30.03 inches. It's steady. The air quality 63 that put us in the moderate range this afternoon. High and low tides tomorrow. Sunrise 610 sets tonight, just three minutes before eight o'clock this evening and the general consensus of today's weather. Not bad, not as good as it was yesterday. I told you we'd have some higher clouds and more clouds along with it, but it was mild temperatures in the mid 80s. We had some sun from time to time. Good day to be out jogging running. Getting some good exercise in. The trees this week, man, if you've got hay fever, you're probably feeling this week. There's a lot of pollen in the air, and if you are a sufferer, this is the worst time of the year, along with September and October, or September really, when the hay fever is probably the worst. Let's take a look at the satellite pictures tonight. Thank you. We have a frontal system just up to our north from Maine through Pennsylvania and New York, just to the north of Maryland into West Virginia, Ohio, and then it trails into another system. In parts of Illinois and in southwestward. Now, very warm air in our area, and it continues over the southeast, clear skies, sunny, very, very pleasant weather. But to our north, this area of clouds has some showers with it, some rain showers and some thunder showers. Further behind that, further west and north in Canada, slightly cooler air and partly cloudy skies. Let's take another look at the satellite picture, and let's kind of zoom into the Maryland area. And I'll show you just how close the heavy bands of clouds are to our region. It's sunny, bright and sunny over the low region shore in Delaware. Ocean City, look like you have a real nice weekend. Temperatures in the upper 70s. Water temperature is only around 50 degrees, so I wouldn't go in the water if I were you, but it's going to be pretty nice. In our region, you can see the clouds just up to our north. From Washington South, looks like a real nice weekend, Baltimore not too bad, but just a slight chance that a shower might get over the mountains. Even tonight, tomorrow, and again on Sunday. Here's the frontal system. It'll be right in this area for the next three days. The further south you go, the better the weather's gonna be. The further north and west toward that frontal system, more clouds and better risk of showers. Winds out of the south, eight to 15. 70 Harrisburg, 67. We've got some light showers out in Morgantown. 79 in Charlottesville. Heavier clouds to our west, as you saw. 78 in Salisbury, with sunny skies down there. Here's a forecast for tonight. Partly cloudy and warm, there is a very slim chance, I'm only including this because you folks out in the western part of Frederick County may pick up a shower or a thower over the next couple of hours. Low of 62, tomorrow variable cloudiness, sunshine, chance of a shower, or a thunder shower, possibly. High of 82, low tomorrow night, 64. I think generally the Hunt Cup tomorrow is gonna be dry. We'll beat all that bad.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149175/file/273800#t=1219.86,1458.57
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149175/file/273800/transcript/80234/annotation/57
Speaker 1: Your little tableau here reminded me of something. He's been arrested, has had weapons taken from his home by the police. And while he may be one of the extremes in the spectrum of crime victims, he, like so many victims we found, feels cheated by the system. There were 431 murders in Maryland during 1982. 1,596 women were raped, 18,842 people assaulted. 15,372 people were robbed. 60,544 homes and businesses were burglarized. True, these numbers are down over the year before, but that's still a lot of victims. And in Maryland, some of these victims have just begun to fight back.
