News with Kai Jackson tonight at 630. It's the snow show with the Blizzard King's Richard Sher and Marty Bass. Okay, I know we're starting our third hour of this coverage, and we want to thank those of you who called, who are who have tuned over and are watching us. You know, because we don't do this on a regular basis on the weekends. Not yet anyway. So you're stuck over in the other joints. But what are you insinuating? No, I'm glad they're they've come back over, you know, because, you know, when it does snow. Yeah. People do. We've been doing this for 17 years. People do count on channel 13 when there's bad weather, no matter who's doing what, at what times, on a regular basis. We have some fun. We have some fun. I mean, you can look up there at these people. It's Sunday and it's snowing and nobody's going anywhere anyway. And why not sit and watch TV or radio or read a book? I bet you the online services are crazy. I wish I if I wish I had a computer. So if you could even log into prodigy or AOL or or CompuServe because everybody on the East Coast would be sitting inside, would be so many people online that it'll be unbelievable. I am alarmed that your son crawled into the fireplace and he's gotten mobile. That's bad. That is. That can be bad. Richard. How are you? Oh, fine. I was back getting us some current weather down. It's still 16 degrees right now. Let's pop in the radar real quick. Frances, take a look with us. I mean, it's pretty obvious. Look at you. One of the best weather graphic you've got, folks, is your window. Look outside. You see the amount that's sitting out there right now? Double it. We're about a third of the way through this weather event. It's going to get pretty rough later on. We've been talking about the Blizzard of 79. We've been talking about 83. We touched on the other here where we touched on 58. Frances called up and she seems to think we're neglecting the blizzard of 1966. Why is that? Frances? 00101 my daughter was born in 66 oh. We had 27in oh. I was stuck in the hospital for about six days. Wait a minute. You can. You're calling from Highland Town, by the way. So in other words, you're in a hospital giving birth. This is when January 27th, 1966. And now this is when people let people stay in the hospital so they could recover and make sure the babies were okay before I got money hungry and gluttonous. Like, now let's take a look at some AccuWeather real quick. Here's your forecast for the day. 16 degrees right now. Heavy snow, increasing wind. I want to tell you I want to be a little serious about this weather here for just a second. Increasingly windy in the area. We're going to look for blizzard conditions tonight. We are? I just got fun with AccuWeather. We are still looking for some really big time weather to come our way tonight. We'll go ahead and say a blizzard. Some whiteouts possible have an overnight low of 16 degrees. Tomorrow we're going to say snow ending. But it's it's, when we say a 1 or 2ft in the city, this is going to be changed. The drifting is going to continue tomorrow. Trust me when I tell you it's the conditions we're going to experience tonight. Powdery snow 26 is a high and overnight low of 18 degrees. It's a real dry, powdery snow. And there's just going to be a lot of drifting of this. There's wall of snow because, it has drifted coming over a hill. So we're in we're in for some problems. Here's current satellite photo. Big area of low pressure sitting right down here to the south. It's powering this storm. You can see Baltimore. You gotta figure that this storm is going to intensify as it starts drawing moisture off of the Atlantic. We've got this cold pool of air over us right now, and you got to go ahead and figure that moisture in the cold air is going to just continue fueling what is, a major winter storm. Won't it stay chilled and and in a proper US state. That's right. But it gets it gets picked up every day because of the quantity of milk we ship. So in other words, doesn't get picked up today. We are fantastic. How about yourself? Great, great. How was the party? It was absolutely fantastic. It was, just just a wonderful event. Paint a picture with words for us. Because we. You overlook the field where the spectacular event took place up on the club level, right? Yes. Okay. Yes. Did they have all the Sky suites open so you can kind of meander and walk around? Well, no, not exactly. They just sort of kept us in the club, but they had the field lit so that you could, you could transcend yourself back to that moment. Did you get there? Did you get to meet Cal and talk with him? Yes, actually, we did tell us about that. Yeah, well, he came to the party, at around 730, 8:00 and mingled throughout the crowd. People got to talk with him, shake his hand, got many pictures taken. He was very cordial to all of the donors. Always on the menu. What was on the menu? Well, it was fabulous. It was the largest shrimp, I think, that I've ever seen. Raw bar, a whole host of of food. Lamb, lamb chops. Just just exquisite display of food. Wow. It was fantastic. We're going to be revising this forecast, downgrading to a winter storm from a blizzard. And that is right now AccuWeather is still keeping the word blizzard in. But once again, we don't banter that word around lightly. There are certain conditions that have to be met, for any storm to be called a blizzard. Those, those those parameters set by the National Weather Service. And we will hit those parameters tonight like two inches of snow, an hour of blah, blah, blah, etc., etc. that was about 16 degrees is going to be the low, actual there's actual forecaster.
