In happier news, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra has flown off to make beautiful music in East Asia. Today, a delegation of political and business leaders also left for Asia, and as the weekend team's Kai Jackson reports, their mission is to hopefully bring new business here to Maryland. Some see the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in Asia to play music as a good opportunity for Governor William Schaefer and Mayor Kurt Schmoke to drum up new business from Maryland and Baltimore. We're going to Korea, Taiwan and Japan. Two purposes, one to, say that, we want to thank those companies that have and businesses have already invested in Maryland. That's important to go back and thank people. In Baltimore here, most of us trying to keep our fingers crossed, I believe so that this will not derail the peace process. It's going to be tough, and it's grim and it's sad. Frustrated. Disheartened. Shocked. Frightened. And there too, one has to understand this situation not in, stark terms of realpolitik, but in terms of people, lives, passions. There are concerns on both sides. In addition to granting a license to kill terrorists, Israel is also preventing thousands of Palestinians from working in Jerusalem and is giving work permits to thousands of foreigners instead, most of them from Thailand. If you look at the decisions of the cabinet today to increase the number of, foreign workers, that means that we do not want to go back to the status quo. But what we're watching even further upstream, of course, as this storm system moves on out of the region, some cooler air will be coming down behind it. The country's president and prime minister, who were enemies during the uprising, stood side by side this afternoon, and the recent rash of gossip on England's Prince Charles continues to roll off the presses today, a British newspaper reports. The prince confessed to having three affairs with his ex flame Camilla Parker Bowles, one of them while he was married to Princess Diana. Gets the number one thing on everybody's mind today on a historic day in Rockingham, North Carolina, as Dale Earnhardt joined the legendary king of stock car racing, Richard Petty, as the only drivers in the history of the sport to capture seven Winston Cup championships. His closest pursuer, Rusty Wallace, ran aground a little bit after this pit stop ran lap number 300. He had to return to the garage, his day ending when his engine gave out. Earnhardt was able to put it into cruise control from there, winning the Delco 500 ahead of Rick Mast and Morgan Shepherd. Dale Earnhardt, only the second driver in the last 17 years to clinch the title with more than two races left in the season after winning it. Even Earnhardt himself seemed astounded at taking King Richard's mark. We won seven, Glen. I mean, it's just, it's amazing that we could do it. I don't know about every time Richard Petty or kids, Richard Petty's record, his championships, but, you know, he's still the king. We're seven time champion now.
