Chuck Whitaker, thank you very much Don. We can see the same situation as yesterday as the people start to get outside. We're starting to see some accidents in the city. A couple of vehicles into a snowdrift on the northbound JFK right around Northern Parkway. So that's blocking two lanes on the northbound side. We have a jackknifed tractor trailer in Prince George's County blocking two lanes northbound on I-95 at Powder Mill Road. That will impact us back towards the Capital Beltway. There was an accident southbound as well, blocking the two right lanes, but the car that was involved now is off to the shoulder. So if a building down below 198 and into the area of the Capital Beltway, you should find all the lanes clear. Still some plowing underway, but for the most part the roadways are clear and out of Rundle Kelly as far as Ritchie Highway and I-90. Hi. Yeah, yeah, he's a gentleman. George Balog, ahead of the, public works part of the city. George, what is up? Well, what's happening is people were parking in snow emergency routes. In fact, since yesterday at 3:00, we've towed 60 people. Okay. And then all that relates to a $200 bill, with fines and towing charges. Now, what's happening is we had the snow piled against the curb, and they're parking out in lanes where people drive, and we just can't tolerate that. So we we've tried to be as lenient as possible, but we're going to have to start telling people and they also give the people tickets. Yeah, I know you started yesterday afternoon and that didn't clear up the problem, right? No, it didn't, in fact, we went to Saint Paul Street in Tallahassee yesterday and certain areas where we got 60 and, we checked out other areas of town and we're gonna have to take some action. We're going to start again at 9:00 this morning. Okay? Okay. We'll hit that real good on the radio. Two. George, by the way. Okay. Thank you. Okay, so if you are parked on a snow emergency street, you can't miss it with the red sign and the P with the line across it. So if you're out there, start digging now and get it out of the way. Right. Well. Hey, George, how's things going otherwise? Just briefly. Well, you know, we had a little dusting yesterday that hurt us. Yeah. I can hear it in your voice because we've been talking in person around the phone since Sunday morning. And, just knowing you in general, are you real, real tough guy to push your buttons don't get pushed easily, but I sense that your buttons have been pushed. Well, when when you look around the city and you see we're trying to move people, then you're parking is near emergency routes, and you have hundreds of cars parked there. And if we have an emergency, we're not going to be able to handle. We had a fire yesterday. Yeah, we had quite a problem just getting to that fire. 20 people stranded a homeless because of that fire. Now here's a big satellite form. Will let it loop through one time. Then we're going to stop and throw the symbols on yesterday's storm moving to and through the area. I hope you guys see Bob talk last night either during the 4:00 special. The 5 to 6 was fascinating. If you're into weather. Fascinating. What happened yesterday? Normally these storms get to the mountains, deposit their moisture on the west side of the mountains, come over the mountains downslope into our area. The air actually warms up. What happened was yesterday, this low right here got to the east of the mountain range and just dug in, no pun intended. Pulled moisture in from the east. And that's where we got our snowfall yesterday. Baltimore. Give yourselves a round of applause. Four and a half to six inches of snow and nobody flipped out. Of course, yet again, nobody could get to the grocery store to buy more bread, toilet paper and white milk. So I said, well, high pressure builds in today. There's the pressure gradient. That's where we get our winds. Now we focus our attention to this area of low pressure. It's going to be diving down to the Texas coast and then essentially swinging our way. Right now, there's no way to say we're going to get there's going to be a band of sleet, freezing rain and then snow. God feeling right now. And some computer indications are that we will more than likely be in the snow band. Does right now look like another 24 inch snowfall? No, not unless there's a dramatic change in the weather. It's going to be another inconvenience. Well, I dare say most of the traffic is walking because, a lot of the parking spaces are completely filled up out there, and you kind of got to break back and forth to get in, a lot of walk up traffic. But, you know, I gotta tell you, one of the problems I have done here at Fells Point from time to time is a panhandlers. This weather, means there also are no panhandlers down here. So, you know, you know, somebody, I'd like you to touch base with. Excuse me. Can you find the person who mops the floor down there? Actually, one of the one of the. I felt so bad. Every time you go someplace, you ruin the floor. Absolutely. Somebody comes in, mops it, then somebody else comes in and ruins it. That's going to be a frustrating part of this. What are you talking about? Those things are, drugs. Yeah. They are hell, right. Well, I saw the floor when you walk through there, and they'll they'll mop it and somebody else will walk me through it again. You know, speaking of Fells Point, I. No, it's not on our network, but that my life is tough. Homicide life on the streets shoots down. Bonita farm, one of the premier, thoroughbred, facilities and on the East Coast. It's beautiful, but you all are nowhere near where you're getting plowed out, Chris. Well, today and yesterday were a lot better. My father in law and my mother in law are in Florida with horses. And, so it's the three brothers and wife. And, they got the tractor moving around on Monday. I mean, on Tuesday. But Monday we had to go take care of 150 horses. And I'm very short, so it's very hard for me to walk through the snow. And half the time we were crawling and rolling, and it took us six hours to get through the barns just to hay and feed and water. And then how many, how many barns? We have five barns. Five barns in. They're not close together. Not close together? Well, you know, it's really interesting, the stories where we where we are now because we are able to now get out into the counties on the Eyewitness News at, at the specials. We're doing the five and the six. We're getting out some of the farms. Businesses cannot closed dairy farms of thoroughbred farms. You guys are out of luck when it comes to the weather. You're not shutting down, right? The animals have to be taken care of. They can't take care of themselves. And, none of our crew, of course, could get in on Monday. Then you turn them out, they don't want to come back in. So you're chasing them through the snow dress, trying to get them to come back in the barn. They don't want to be inside, but they have to be at night. So it's tough. But look at it to look at it that but look at it this way. If by some chance you really needed to get to a convenience store, you could, you could, you could just saddle up, one of those thoroughbreds that have the most I have the and have the most expensive vehicle going to a convenience store in Harlan County. Yeah, we could take Oliver Twist to the 7-Eleven. Right? You you could you imagine? Pull up next to a Ferrari and looking over at it and saying, you ain't nothing. I think it's like the snow trifecta. We're playing it right now and it comes to fruition tomorrow night. Okay. 835. We're going to do some news for you this morning in the news. It was a tough night for Randall County firefighters as they battled a two alarm blaze in Glen Burnie. The blaze broke out about 1130 last night inside an apartment house on Governors Court. The unit block there. It took firefighters about 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control, and people of people suffered minor injury in the fire. The cause is still under investigation. The snow covered streets are blamed for a head on collision last night that injured two Baltimore County police officers. The accident happened on Old York Road up near the Pennsylvania Line, as the officer's four wheel drive vehicle crested a hill and smashed into a pickup truck coming from the other direction. Snow piled on the sides of the road prevented the drivers from seeing each other. Officer Norman Anderson suffered minor injuries and was treated and released. Officer Donald Osiris injured his head and shoulder and is expected to be released sometime later today. The driver of the pickup was not hurt. In other weather related news, with many side streets still a snowy mess, as we've been talking about, the calls for people with four wheel drive vehicles willing to volunteer continue. Also, the Baltimore Commission on Aging is set up a special phone number for city senior citizens to call if they have a food, medical or other kind of emergency. They only can call the number at 396 1324 3961324 and do so between the hours of nine and five, so don't call for 20 minutes or so. Finally, some quick work by an ambulance, a National Guard Humvee and a snow plow helped deliver a Blizzard baby yesterday. Justin Gregory Keane was born at 418 yesterday afternoon. His mother's water broke yesterday morning and neighbors tried to dig out Sharon Keane's car, but they couldn't, so they called 911. Soon after an ambulance and a National Guard Humvee arrived, they dug the ambo out of the cul de sac and made it to GPS BMC just before little Justin made his appearance. You know, we had a call earlier from a where were they? Were they called from the city? They, they were stuck in a cul de sac. They hadn't been closed if it hadn't been plowed. Contractions were eight minutes apart. The county said, well, we'll send a Humvee out there for you again. You know, as a four wheel drive, four wheel drive ambulance to get you out. Second baby. Yeah, we do know it's coming our way though. High of 32, an overnight low of 22 at four and a half to six inches. Yesterday we handled it pretty good. It was like four and a half. No big deal. Activity is not quite as heavy as it has been the past few days, which is fine, because we're ready to take a little bit of a break before we gear up for the weekend. Right. Marty and Don, alluded to a couple of things, early on, and that was how you all and everyone who works in here, all the coordinating agencies are going to kind of gear up for Friday because I guess all of us are are kind of fearful and wondering what we can expect from this next storm. Right? We don't know what to expect. No one's really committed to any snow depths yet, so we're kind of getting nervous about that. So we'll be watching that really closely. And we expect that we'll we'll be doing something in relation to that storm, because we still really have recovered from this one. From this one, what types of things do you imagine that you're going to be dealing with today, Lisa? Today we'll probably still be helping, state highway, state police dig out, we'll be dealing with the, National Guard will still be assisting with emergency medical types of things. Dialysis patients, getting critical staff back and forth to the hospital, digging out basically what we're going to be doing. Those Humvees will be rolling again. They're going to be on the roads. Yeah. This is going to be a tough one in that I mean, mentally, it's just here comes another one.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136405/file/252996#t=1051.44,1162.6"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136405/file/252996/transcript/71292/annotation/71","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"You know, everything happens in threes, right? The snow trifecta, finishes out tomorrow night. Cold tomorrow I a 32 an overnight low of 22 degrees by a wet. By the way, that snowfall is going to continue on into Friday. There's snow related news going on that we're going to touch base back in with a couple of our live shots. 32 degrees is going to be the high today. The sunshine in the area. It's going to get windy. Winds are already kicking up out of the out of the northwest. So I think we're gonna see some blowing and drifting of snow. Of course, winds kicking up behind the upper air disturbance that passed by yesterday. Yeah. Winds northwest of BWI tomorrow night. We'll get into another episode. Frozen precept 32 and 22. Looks like snow all day Friday. 32 degrees is going to be the hype. Oh, man. That's about it. And it looks like right now we are we are not going to give a snowfall amount for Friday's event. The storm hasn't shown itself enough. We do have confidence enough to say, though, that Thursday night into Friday we're going to get an episode of winter weather.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136405/file/252996#t=3764.13,3844.51"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136405/file/252996/transcript/71292/annotation/100","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Saturday of the day to clear out more wind blowing, drifting snow. 36 degrees to hot on Sunday. You know, everybody has to tune in to see what is going on, and people become addicted to this, this whole TV business and showing everybody where it's all around. So, I think I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks to all the customers out there who are, giving us a little tune in back to you. Oh, well, listen, let me tell you. So, Mike, thanks for all the hustle this morning.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136405/file/252996#t=5122.54,5190.19"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136405/file/252996/transcript/71292/annotation/114","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Our Mike, she's been with us since 530 this morning. Big round of applause. Hey, look, we do appreciate a whole lot of people putting this together. You can imagine logistics. You try to move around. Imagine trying to move off of television. Hill, which is Don pointed out last night, truly is a mountain in the middle of the city. Our driveway, just to get down to the street that leads to our driveway is a vertical drop, almost 60ft, and when our trucks go down or come up, we still call on the radio and say, truck coming up, stay out of the way. Yeah. No lie. And today some more employees will be coming in without radio. So we're gonna see how that works. So there's a whole lot of folks who are now coming in here to put together another day's, another day's effort for Eyewitness News. We'll be back at noon, and we will, we will, recap the morning and take a look at the afternoon during that broadcast. The decision will be made later whether we go on earlier this afternoon with another snow special. Otherwise, we'll be back at 5:00. Richard and Sally, and then, Vic and, Dennis. Eyewitness news at 6:00, the day of the dig out, the day of the frustration or another dig out today with another dig at some people did it yesterday and that's back. That's what we're all going to be doing again Saturday after Friday. Anyway. My name is Don Scott. Still, I think I'm Marty Bass have a safe day. Bye bye bye.
