One month. One month from today is Friday, May the 27th. That's going to be the Memorial Day weekend. One month, from today it actually starts. Pools will be opening all throughout the area. Of course, playgrounds. I'll be talking about that in a series. If the weather's like this, Memorial Day Weekend, folks, we're going to be in Fat City. This is one dynamite day. A few clouds over the area now, but that's just very simply due to this warm air. It's a warm infection. I'll explain it to you in just a second. Right now on TV Hill. Temperatures in the 70s throughout the entire area not only on TV Hill but in the suburbs also very light humidity in the 40s winds westerly a balmy breeze reminds you of the trade winds around Martinique. Brerometric pressure falling now from 29 92 next tide of Fort McHenry a low tide will look for high tides. This evening, tonight, the sun sets at almost 8 o'clock. OK, we had some showers this morning. They were expected a few clouds over the area. Now it's because of a warm front moving over the area. Let's take a look at Skyeye live right now. It's not showing us anything. Ground clutter, no measurable precipitation expected in the area for about 24, maybe 36 hours. Let's look at SkyTrak, a satellite photo. Nice color view of the East Coast. Very few clouds that you can see in denseness over the East Let's take a close look. At the east coast of the united states of america there are a few uh... Systems nearby let's computer enhance go to the infrared look at the same satellite photo there's a warm front over the area can distinctly see the clouds now out to the west of the ohio valley there is a dying cold front it more than likely will never make it to our area even if it does it's no big deal there's not a lot of moisture associated either with the warm front or the cold front but uh... We're gonna have a few problems over the course of the weekend let Talk about these for just a second. That cold fronts get up, you know, kind of slide through the area and then kind of stall. The high pressure controlling our weather today is going to lock itself over Bermuda and literally form a block along the coast. That is going to enable a storm system brewing up over New Mexico now toe right up the front, possibly cloud us up, give us a chance of showers as early as friday afternoon. And if everything goes according to plan, the cloud should stay with us until saturday afternoon. Get some clearing saturday night. Sunday could be a decent day, but anytime we get into that situation, things could change. It's not, we're not looking for a lot of rainfall, but what we'd be looking for is some cloud cover, you know, for the beginning of the weekend. For today, tonight and tomorrow, no problems, no sweat whatsoever, unless you go outside and run around in the sunshine. Here's your forecast today. We're gonna say decently sunny skies, temperatures bounding into the seventies. By tonight, it's gonna be a relatively mild night, low temperatures from 52 to 60 degrees. Tomorrow, another sunny day, a mixture of clouds and sun. It's because of the heat. You get the heat rising out of the earth and it's the cooler air. You get some clouds forming high tomorrow of 82 degrees. Rich and Ope, I wish you were here, but I'm sure the studio is just as nice. Beautiful sunshine in the studio.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=432.22,603.65
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80229/annotation/17
Speaker 1: We'd like to be out there and everybody would like to see you take the first dive of the summer
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=603.94,607.56
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80229/annotation/18
Speaker 6: Have you been drinking, Richard? Someday it may be remembered as the most agonizing decision Pope John Paul II ever made. He'd prayed for guidance and yet none came until one day on the first day of February, 1981, he made up his mind that the next Archbishop of Paris would be Bishop Jean-Marie Lustigier. When that same pope nominated Lustigie Archbishops of Paris, he was choosing a bishop who'd spent only a little more than a year in that capacity. February, 1983, the inevitable Jean-Maurice Lustigien. The leading Roman Catholic prelate in all France, the Archbishop of the French capital, was elevated to Cardinal. That Cardinal will remember, if you insist, the seeming endlessness of World War II. He will remember the Nazi occupation of France, the days when Catholic families often secretly adopted Jewish youngsters and reared them as their own to spare them from the ovens. The Cardinal, in fact, remembers one small Jewish boy in particular, who wore the Nazis' yellow star to school. And whose parents sent him off to live with the Catholic family in Orlean and whose mother was subsequently killed in Auschwitz. And the Cardinal remembers these things with pain because he was that boy. This then was the dilemma of Pope John Paul II, whether for the first time in all history to appoint a man who still considers himself a Jew, a Cardinal. You know the Pope's decision. Only now you know the rest of the story.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=788.77,873.24
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80229/annotation/29
Speaker 1: Today is Wednesday and consumer specialist Cheryl Deutsch will make a regular noon visit and tell you how to get the most out of your spring cleaners.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=876.06,883.88
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80229/annotation/30
Speaker 5: And Greengrocer Joe Cardione starts his menu with a delightful New Zealand apple. Anyway, we all have things that we've been meaning to get rid of for so long are those clothes that we have that will never fit into again, and there's a way out for you and those goods. Charitable organizations like the Disabled American Veterans have drop-off centers in the city and the counties. Some are open seven days a week. They also have trucks that pick up items from your home. The advantage to donating to organizations like this is they can give you a receipt for tax deduction purposes. And they usually accept items for all seasons. Also, if some of the goods need repair, they're generally equipped to fix them up. Proceeds from what they sell goes to their charity. You can also sell your household items and clothing. And for that, there are two types of stores. A consignment shop, which usually splits the sale with 50-50. Or a shop that will buy your goods cash on the spot. But remember, if you sell the goods outright, you have to live with the store's appraisal. Of course, another way to get rid of unwanted items is to hold a garage sale. Sometimes a few neighbors will get together and have a multi-family sale. That can add more fun to the profit picture. So what you have do is decide which avenue to take. But even before that, You have to get the energy up to clean those closets out. And for some of us, it's going to mean just looking at it and closing the door. Now the Jaguar was written on here but unfortunately all the letters came off because I stuck this sign on top of this and all the letter on the back of here, you see how sticky it is. Anyway, thank you for the cake, I'm wondering where it was right, well it was in my office and here it is, let's take a look at our occurring conditions under clear skies. The moon is out there 64. It's down to 60 at the airport still 68 downtown humidity. 44% of the winds out of the West only about three miles an hour. The 2 9 8 9 rising air quality was in the moderate range at 62 this afternoon high and low tides tomorrow center is 6 13 sets set 7 to 56 clear skies in the area now we had a few clouds earlier today but look at that nice coppery Moon, very, very pretty spring moon. Today was the warmest day we've had since last October, believe it or not, six full months. And in the city tonight, clear skies, we're gonna be staying mild, temperatures generally in the 50s all night long. Radar tonight has a lot of ground clutter and I mean, it's everywhere, just inundated, no precipitation. And this is a good sign because when you get real clear skies this time of year. You're getting a lot of inversions. So when you see this wild radar pattern, you know you have clear skies and these crazy inversions that do develop over our region sometimes. 63 Salisbury, 67 Richmond, 70 in Washington, 61 Martinsburg, 62 in Harrisburg, and out in Morgantown, 60 degrees. Clear skies everywhere right now. Winds tomorrow to the southwest, eight to 15 miles an hour. And satellite picture shows us very clear skies through Maryland, Pennsylvania, all the way down into Florida. And west to parts of Ohio. Some cloudiness now beginning to move into parts of Ohio, a few light showers over parts of Indiana. Some heavier thunderstorms over parts of Illinois. You can see this very heavy blob out here. They've had some very severe weather over parts of Missouri, eastern Kansas. And that area of severe weather is moving toward Michigan generally and over Chicago. They'll probably see some pretty good thunderstorms over the next few hours. This whole area moving to the northeast. Now, the associated funnel system with this, a low pressure system. Will cross and get close to our region sometime Friday. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the system will be very close to us and I think it'll give us just a chance of a few scattered showers Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday but not much precip expected because it's a rather dry system. Here's the front. Warm weather tomorrow, southerly winds, high pressure off the coast, generally in the 70s all on these coasts and some low 80s. Slightly cooler weather behind this front, that will be here this weekend but. No real drastic changes in temperature. Sunny tomorrow, 82, could get to 84. 80 on Friday, some clouds, late, could shower. Could shower Saturday, 72, 73, 70 by Monday with partly sunny skies all weekend long. And tomorrow morning, very pleasant. 56, bright sunshine, gonna be very nice. Have a great Thursday, Jerry?
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=2804.0,2989.43
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80229/annotation/99
Speaker 17: Thank you very much for the cake, Robert. NBA playoff action tonight in Boston. The Celts don't often look downright poor on their home court, but that was the case tonight. They were beaten by Milwaukee 116 and 95. Bucks taking a one-nothing lead in their best of seven series. It was the worst home playoff loss since 72 for the Celts. Bucks totally outplayed them. Bob Lanier with the hook over Cedric Maxwell. Bucks again, Brian Winters with the steal. He gets it ahead to Sidney Montkreaf for the stuff. Montkreof led Milwaukee with 22. Celts' tiny archer ball drives the lane. Misses. Bird is there to follow Bird in big foul trouble all night. Winner's length of court to Marcus Johnson. Johnson with 17 tonight. Six Bucks and double figures, including Junior Bridgman from the baseline. Bucks beat the Celts 1-16-95. Meanwhile, in Philadelphia tonight, the Sixers rallied from 20 points down to beat the Knicks 98-91. Dr. J with the miss and Moses Malone there with the tip. Malone had 30. Bernard King played for the Knick's tonight. Despite his injured ankle, King finished. With 16 points. Sixers with a furious surge in the third quarter. Mo Cheeks steal and lay up Cheeks with 26. Cheeks and Malone combining for 56 points. Philly wins 98-91. Lead the series two games to none. One other NBA score tonight. San Antonio 126, Denver 104. And the Washington Redskins cornerback, Joe Lavender, has announced his retirement today after 10 years.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=3327.36,3494.5
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80229/annotation/120
Speaker 17: All right, thank you. Only now you know the rest of the story.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=788.77,873.24
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80232/annotation/150
Speaker 1: Today is Wednesday and consumer specialist Cheryl Deutsch will make a regular noon visit and tell you how to get the most out of your spring cleaners.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=876.06,883.88
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80232/annotation/151
Have a great Thursday, Jerry?
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799#t=2804.0,2989.43
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149174/file/273799/transcript/80232/annotation/220
Speaker 17: Thank you very much for the cake, Robert.
