I'm t montero. Have those reports out. Anthony, here today on the entertainment page, I'll be showing you Lionel Richie's penny lover, and you'll have an opportunity to enjoy the vocal stylings of Baltimore Zone leader GREENE. Also up close and personal, the 1984 general treatment model search winner and winner Richard Consuelos. Predictions and the beautiful Edwina Richard, next live on City Line. Good afternoon. Thank you for joining us on City Life. We have a very interesting show for you this afternoon. And we'd like to welcome back a very special guests, Miss Consuela Newton. Thank you for joining us. I guess one of the questions that I had I listened to one of your lecture tapes and I found very interesting your discussion about larger and smaller intelligences. And I guess one of the things that that occurred to me was the similarity between the discussion you had and the Buddhist concept of a single hole that makes up the universe and everything being a part of that. Is this something that that everyone can come in touch with and make use of? Yes, I definitely If. Some things that. You'd be surprised how we're connected to everything.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=28.13,204.43"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/2","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"One of the things I think I was trying to make very clear on the tape was the fact that that if we even sit on a chair, we're not sitting on something that's basically solid. We're sitting on something that's alive because it's made up of atoms and electrons and protons and all of those things. They have a geometric construction which gives them this physical material sense, which gives us a sense of solidity. However, if we stop and we look around around us, we think there's nothing there. But there is the fact that we've got these lights going. But you could not see the electricity or electricity. I can't even see electrical conduits that are are making this this flow here. And so this could be rather confusing. But there is a relationship. And if a person pays attention to the things that go on in their life, they are having an effect upon those things in their home. By the way, they think by the way that they act, that I'm talking about things like the washing machine will go, you know, the car is working right. Or the fact that you even get a dent in a fender in a car. It's an indication of something that's going on between you and that particular item that you call your own. Okay. Well, I just want to take the moment to invite our audience at home to call in and join in the discussion. Simply call 481 1313 and be a part of the show. Right now, I believe we have a young lady from the audience who has a question from this minute. Right. Hi, Connie. Hi. I'd like to know what direct influence does your work have on the health profession and particularly how you see people taking charge of their health or what how your work would affect people in relation to their health? All right.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=206.2,316.03"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/3","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"First of all, I have a strong belief that the mind plays an important part in the body. And as I was just saying here, that everything that goes on in your life is reflected by the way that you are thinking, by the way that you're acting in your life. And consequently, if a person has an illness in the body, it's because the mind in itself is not functioning properly. So, for instance, if an individual has a pancreatic condition, it is almost a sure thing that that person is not feeling love in their life. They are not feeling that they are loved. And so the emotions and the chemistry in the body are all related to this. If an individual is having trouble with the feet in the legs, it's an indication that they are not having a good, sound foundation experienced in their thinking process and in their life. If they have back aches, there's an indication that the individual has a problem sustaining the responsibilities in their life. Now, what can the person do about that? The person who has a pancreatic problem or backache, what can they do about it? All right. One of the first things is listen to what. Is going on in the body. That's the first thing. Relate that to the instances of how these attacks and the feelings of when the conditions really get very, very bad so that they can prevent those things from awry. You know, when you get a rash on the on the skin, it's it's you're irritated with somebody in your life. There's something going on that's really bugging you. So it that so here you get this little virus that comes under the skin and starts to do this. You pay attention to those events, then you need not have that do meditation, calm the body relaxation techniques.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=317.11,432.89"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/4","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"We have to take a break right now. And just before the break, we were talking about health problems and what the person here, what the person can do to resolve those problems. And you mentioned about listening or being in touch. How can you I mean, if you're a person who is not generally aware of what you can do, how does one pick up the techniques that allows him or her to listen in order to know how to heal? You know, it's very simple just to still yourself find a quiet place in the house. And if you've got a lot of children, you know, go to the bathroom and close the door, go in it, you know, and feel very comfortable. But then put your your concentration on your breathing, then move your concentration to your heartbeat and then back to your breathing again. That steals the body and the mind comes in tune with something you're talking about again on the tape, about learning your own rhythm, finding that rhythm and being able to recognize it. Yes. And keep it in tune with certain things. Yes. Elaborate on that a little bit. Well, if you have a way of listening to the breathing process that goes on in the body, that will establish your rhythm. All of us don't breathe the same. You know, Jackie's going like this and you're going like this. And and all of us are not operating that way. But once you find that you operate in that, that kind of rhythmic pattern, you're going to find that you'll be able to breathe well. And we have someone from the audience again.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=433.58,606.55"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/5","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Hi. Hi. Good morning. My question may be veering a little bit away from a conversation, but I think I need to ask anyway. I have something coming up in my life that's very, very important to me, but I'm not quite sure if I should go ahead and do it. It's an either or situation. If I do it, it can bring me a lot of success, a lot of happiness. But if I don't do it, I'm always wonder maybe 40 years down the line, should I go help, go for it? And about six months it'll be a big, big change in your life. How do you know that? Oh, you would ask me that day. All right. First of all, you want to know how the procedure is. I'd rather teach than give these one on one answers this way. Anyway, the process is to tune in to what I am hearing. Way back in my mind, there is a subconscious voice. That's the little voice of the conscience. Once you become acquainted with the voice of the conscience, it will then proceed to give you the responses to anything you want to know. So all I need to do is just merely listen to the voice rhythm and then listen to what my response is going to be. And I hear it, and then I give you your answer. That's the way it is. Oh, she should make that move. She should make the move. And then in six months, there'll be a tremendous change in her life. I think that's going to be up. She's got good, good vibrations on it. Your live on City Line in touch with Consuela Newton. Yes. Um, my question is concerning mechanisms and that ability or power to heal. And basically I would like to know where, in fact of that where the source of that power with those energies coming from. And how is she developing those particular power? Thank you. Okay. Healing ability is intrinsically a part of everybody's life. And I consider it a normal ability. The idea of setting the mind to want to heal someone else starts energies flowing in the body, the bioelectrical energies. We are electromagnetic people. Okay. Once that happens, then the extension of this energy moves through the hands and then goes to the other individual and it generates a response, a synergistic response in that person to respond to the healing. And that's what happens. So healing takes place, so the person must be involved in the process is not something that happens just by their being there and you're touching them, they must respond. There's a part of a person that you can have absent healing, which is very, very viable. But there must be something in that mind. Here we go again in the mind of that individual that wants some healing. And so then you send the energy and then it responds. Okay, another call from home. Hi, you're on City Line. Hello. Hello. Hello. I had plans. I Yes, I have a question for Ms.. Newton. He's talk about health and what it could mean in terms of psychological things in a person's life. Yes. And I have a question concerning fibroid tumors. I have one. And my gynecologist, who was also black, said that this is a common illness or condition among black women. If it's benign, then it is something that is very irritating, that has gotten bigger than the grain of sand. It's something that you're not capable of handling well. And it is growing so that you need to analyze your emotional state. If it is in the female section of the body, that means an irritation with a male person in your life. And it could be the of the father or it could be the husband or the mate that you have selected. If it is cancerous, then it means that you have an intense hate and anger that you have turned inward and backward on yourself. Okay. We've got another question from our studio audience. Yes, sir. Yes. This is not person, but an institutional kind of question. Yes. Currently, there is a presidential search going on at Morgan State University. I'd like to get your vibes on that. And what do you feel the future has for Morgan going into the 21st century? Okay. Morgan, of course, is my alma mater. Yes. I really feel very good about the the college. And I'm seeing right at this moment that there's going to be a trend to to move this institution in a new direction. And it should go in a new direction. There should be more expansion, more of the institutional cases of new courses that will go into the new age. High tech things should come in at the same time. Don't be afraid of making that that change. And then look for the man that I feel will be quite tall, quite robust across the shoulders, maybe around about six feet, standing with a good deal of hair on his head still. It's not as strong as it should be, and I don't see that as strong. I think you're going to seek other avenues for funding. Thank you for the question, Consuela. I'd like to follow up on the question that from the lady from home concerning the fibroids. The answer was a little odd to me. You know, you're saying that you either hate the father or you hate a man in your life or whatever, if it's cancerous. But that is not a medical answer. I said it was self-hate. It's self. Hey, it's self-hate. It's there's anger, there's some anger, and then it's turned backward on self. In order to prevent their growth, let's say what? To prevent additional growth. Mm hmm. What does one do? Here we go. With the mind again. You have to. You have to analyze, or you may go get therapy to see what the situation is. Be more vocal and open about the feelings that you have as opposed to just internalize. And you see, a lot of these problems are because of internalization of hate. Now, beyond that, it is a medical question, though. Yes. Seek medical. Oh, yes. I always say go go to the doctor and get it. Get I would check everything out. Okay. We can't have Consuela Newton here without her making some predictions. And we'll do that when we return. Thanks for. Welcome back live the city line. We're talking with Mr. Spiller. But I do see that Ronald Reagan is going to take the election and he's going to get an awful lot of support from the young people, which is really going to tilt the vote. But the whole thing over the edge. However, I'm not feeling too good about Ronald Reagan's health. Not at all. And if you remember last year when I was on the show, I indicated that he had something wrong in the left quadrant of his body in this area here. And in March, they sent him to the hospital and they found that he had polyps in the descending colon and also in the rectum. Well, he lasts the entire four years if elected. I don't feel very well. I really don't feel that he will. I feel that we have to be aware of something very sad that might take place in the May, somewhere around about May of this year and a little bit, I believe. In 83. You are predicting a major shift in world leaders. Yes, there definitely will be. And so you're going to find this taking place even in Russia. But I will get back to Reagan. You know, I think about when I go to sleep that, you know, I dream. And I assume at that point my subconscious mind is kind of taking over. So what happens, You know, when I'm awake, how do I go back and pull that forward? Oh, that's a whole teaching procedure here. Basically, it's concentration, learning to focus the mind and the one pointed ness until you become acquainted with that inner voice. And when you become acquainted with that inner voice, you'll get your responses. It's really intuition that you have all of the time, but we tune it out. So as a clairvoyant, I tune it in. Is that the first thought? Usually we call it the gut reaction. You know, I've got this hunch or you say something, told me to do something. That's something. Is the voice of the intuition. Pay more attention to it and it will get louder. Thank you for the question. Thank you. Let's get back to some more predictions. Yes, perhaps some quick ones. Okay. Jesse Jackson, what do you see for him? Oh, I see a lot of success for this man. He's a light worker. He is really out there. Anything in general coming up in the years ahead that you see as a particular problem or something we should be aware of? Well, economics, I feel that we're going to have an upswing in the economics around about the spring of the year of 85. And so that the House people who want to purchase houses, the Sun Belt states are definitely going to present a very good platform for buying houses down there. So that's the place to go. But that's been the trend for a while. Yes, but it's really going to be quite good. Even more so. Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Another question from our audience. So. Yes, sir. Yes. My question is. Regards to the reaction of the people you make the predictions for. Sometimes you predict and predict correctly. Sometimes you predict and it would be out of line. I'm not trying to say that you you're not predicting. Right. But what are the people reaction when your prediction is the reverse? You mean if something is incorrect is incorrect and it didn't even work out the way they thought? And it goes to the extent of messing up their whole future plans. I, I have to say this and I'm saying this very mildly here. I haven't had that problem. I really have not had that problem. And but I understand what what you're saying that in the event somebody predicts something that is incorrect, that it's the manner in which they give the prediction if they have to, if they're telling the person that they're going to die or they're telling the person that they've got a husband that's doing this, that and the other, which I don't I don't even involve myself in those kinds of things.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=1329.75,1451.77"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/12","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"So I don't come across that. Yes, I just came down to the show, and what I'd like to know is exactly what is clear buoyancy. And I've had incidents where I could predict someone would call me and certain of the events happening. I would like to know how do I develop what? Let's bring all of this out into the open where clairvoyance is clear seeing, and that is perceiving something beyond the eye. It's it's getting feelings as well about things that are not there. You just have to practice paying attention to the hunches and the feelings that you have. I spent some time listening to the inner selves, spend some time meditating and concentrating on the rhythms in the body, and then when you tune into those hunches, grab the first one you've got and practice always grabbing that first one that. Does everyone have this ability? Oh, yes. Oh, yes. In addition to that, clairvoyance versus Claire. AUDIENCE What's the difference, Claire? Audience means clear hearing. That's the point of hearing the inner voice. Clearly. Sometimes a voice outside of self can be her. And that means tuning in to another plane of existence. Okay, Let's take another question from our audience. Yes, ma'am. You have a question. Good morning. You opened your discussion on things like the mind and matter are sort of related. Okay. Good for you to come back and see us again. It was my pleasure. Thanks for joining us. We'll be right back with Tim and he has news that join us. That's. Good afternoon. Topping today's news cap, a few days ago, Poco City, Maryland, was selected as one of 17 finalists of the All American Cities program. It was recognized as a community that strives hard to solve its problems. This summer, we took our city line cameras to Maryland's Eastern Shore, home of Poco City, to get a firsthand look at conditions there. And this is our report. This is Maryland's worst, a county home for the tourist mecca of Ocean City. It's a county that contains enormous wealth and stifling poverty. Almost side by side, blacks on Maryland's Eastern Shore make up one fourth of county residents. They support 11 churches, a few small businesses, and one countywide organization.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=1570.15,1736.96"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/14","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"The worst, the county branch of the NAACP. This is the other side of Worcester County. The side tourists don't often get a chance to see. It's the side where mostly black folk live on dirt roads with no paving and outhouses with no indoor plumbing. Anyone care for a drink of water? As you've seen already, that in many of the situations you do not find the existence of the dirt roads and in a white area you do not find that in the you don't find the privies and housing, you know, in a white area. Those things, Yes. I'm not saying they don't exist, but it's a prevailing. It's going to be exist in the black community, in the unincorporated areas. According to a report published by the Maryland State Conference of the NAACP. Blacks in Worcester County are far more likely to reside on unpaved roads than are whites. Housing conditions of rural blacks frequently are unsafe, dangerous and an immediate threat to public health. Discrimination, the report says, has been a part of Worcester County since slavery first began there in the 1600s. Anytime you see that, the county's roughly a third black, but yet when you see the percentage of these discrepancies in all these areas, they you find that the majority of them are black. That constitutes discrimination to me and a pattern of discrimination through the years. For years, Leon Blake has been seeking county government assistance to get a road paved in his area and help for home repairs. Leon Blake has lived in Worcester County for over 30 years. He has never gotten that help. No. And you know, one thing, they said they were going to pay the black top this for the sale. So that's what that's all up to see.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=1738.07,1862.53"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/15","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"And what has happened? Have they done it? No, they have done yet. Blacks make up 26.2% of the Worcester County population, yet 71% of households on dirt roads in the county are black households. When presented with these statistics, governmental units typically say that their policies on road paving are racially neutral, and they did not consciously intend to discriminate against blacks in the paving of county roads. However, the conditions of black residents in some parts of Worcester County, like the unincorporated areas near Berlin and Snow Hill and Poco smoke, tell a totally different story. The Worcester County report is the first document of its kind prepared by the NAACP, which details some pretty interesting aspects of black life in Worcester County and political news. One of the more controversial issues on Baltimore's ballot this November will be whether or not the city should have an elected school board. Proponents say it would enhance the democratic process. Others do not agree. Joining me now is delegate Howard Pete Rollins to discuss the issue. Delegate Rollins, thank you for taking the time with us this morning. You do not support an elected school board. Why not? Well, one of the reasons I don't support an elected school board and urge citizens to vote against Question P is not in the elected school board would undermine the accountability procedures that we currently have in place and threaten the $200 million that the civil party funds are promised to Baltimore City over the next five years. It would also result in token black representation on the board in Prince George's County and Montgomery County that are held up as models by the proponents of an elected school board. There are only one black serving on each. We would only be guaranteed one block under the proposal that is in question three and black representation as a key issue for my constituents and for me.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=1864.03,1984.63"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/16","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"What about the argument that the NAACP advances that it would enhance the democratic process and allow the individual citizen a chance to play a part in the decision making process of who actually sits on the school board, the Baltimore City? Well, the democratic process is certainly in play. The school board is appointed by the mayor. We elect the mayor of Baltimore City. And we hope in the very near future that mayor will be black. And we don't want to take away this enormous power from a black mayor in terms of setting educational leadership in Baltimore City. Also, the school board is approved by the city council, and the city council is elected by the people of Baltimore City. And certainly we have extensive accountability and democratic controls over the determination of the membership of the school board. Delegate Rawlings, briefly, what do you think chances for passage of the bill this November? Well, when we started our opposition against question three, we meaning other black elected officials, we thought it was about 5050. We believe that now that is tilting in our direction. And that question, he will be defeated on Election Day, November six. Delegate Howard, Pete Rawlings, thank you very much. Thank you. I'll be back next with an interview with edwina Richard, one of the gentle treatment models search stations. Electricity line on the months. And with me is Edwina Richard, winner of the 1984 Gentle Treatment Model Search. Edwin, a welcome to city life. Thank you. Odds were 1000 or 6000 to 1 that you would win the 1984 model search sponsored by Johnson Products. What prompted you to enter the contest? Well, I had been modeling about a year and a half prior to my entering the contest, and I found it very exciting and very rewarding. And I saw the ad for the Next model searching in Essence magazine. So I entered the contest by sending in the form with the picture of myself and the front panel from the box of dental treatment. And they notified me about a month later that I had become eligible to be one of the finalist in the contest. And that was a very exciting moment in my life. I believe it was. Tell me something. When enter the contest, did you actually think that you would win? No. Well, I had great hopes in winning, but I didn't actually think that I would be the grand prize winner. When I was selected as a finalist, I thought, Oh, wow, now maybe I have the chance to win. But when I arrived in New York and saw the other six finalists, it kind of shattered my dreams a bit because the girls were so pretty. But I was lucky enough to become the winner, and it's been an exciting year.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217#t=2106.38,2345.28"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/86942/file/175217/transcript/41913/annotation/18","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Tell us about the evening that you were selected, the winner. It was quite an exciting time and it was to me it seemed like it was a mini Miss America pageant the way they introduced us on stage, the finalist. We were first introduced after a slide presentation. We had to go on stage and answer one question. The second time we modeled sportswear and the third time we were in long evening gowns and they announced the grand prize winner. And a third segment modeling is something that many women would like to get into and to aspire to create a career in. Did you have any prior modeling experience? I wouldn't say any professional experience, but I knew a couple of people who were modeling and they would give me give me tips on how to apply makeup and how to walk on the runway. Different things I should do as far as first launching a modeling career, like getting my portfolio together. But I took all of that and I took it inside myself to see how I could use that to enhance my career and through the means of the model search, it has helped me a lot. I would imagine a portfolio was vital to anyone seriously considering the modeling business. What tips would you give someone for what should be contained in their portfolio? Mostly, I think the portfolio should contain black and white shots. If there's a shots that the model herself has done on location or in a studio, because that's really what the agents are looking for. Their color pictures can be the work, the finished work that they've done, which could be an ad from a magazine. I've done just a little bit of research on you, Winnie, which is your nickname, right? Okay. And I understand that you not only believe in beauty on the outside, but beauty on the inside as well in terms of health. Give us some color, some tips, tips that you like to share with people. I'm an advocate of good nutrition, and that means that you should eat a variety of foods from each food group, the five food groups, your main face, your bread and cereal, your carbohydrates, things like that. Sometimes it may be a pimple on the face if you've eaten chocolate candy, or you really have to watch your intake of foods, your intake of water should be very high because that rinses out the impurities. As many of you know, Alida is a Baltimore based singer who is considered to be one of the prime attractions of Charm City being backed by the equally talented Mark Root, M.S., who plays Fender Rhodes piano, viola and Moog synthesizer. They produce a unique sound that I have you looking about the room for the musicians and singers. The secret is a process called overdubbing, which is simply a prerecorded studio track that is played in unison with the live performers to create the illusion that there are more performers present than you see. This is a performance that you'll have to see to believe. I had the pleasure of spending some time with the leader last Sunday, and I asked her how she felt about performing live in the BSO telethon.
