Hi, I'm Jackie Hall. Hello, I'm Betty Bentley. Nothing gets you into the Christmas spirit quicker than hearing the traditional songs associated with this holiday season. And on our Cityline Christmas special, we'll have the Money Messengers and the Baltimore School for the Arts to help get you into the holiday spirit. Also, Grio Mary Carter Smith will delight you with stories of both the young and the old. The City Line family is pleased to bring to you this holiday song fest celebrating the joyful sounds of the season. The Imani Messenger is the Baltimore School for the Arts and Mary Cotter next live on City on. For joining us. And welcome to a very special edition of Cityline. We brought together the entire city Line family to join us so that we could share this holiday with you. And as you can see, we've got some very special guests here with us, too. Indeed. In fact, they're my special people. These are the first graders from the North Wood Elementary School. And welcome to City Line. Jackie, because Christmas is such a special time of the year, we've got together some very special entertainment. We have the Money Messengers of Bethlehem Church, the Baltimore School for the Arts Choir and Baltimore's own Grio, Mary Carter-smith. It should be really exciting. Harold, when you think of Christmas, what do you think? God Well, you think of eggnog, flaming the tree, and, of course, Christmas carols. Which brings us to our very first musical guests who are the Baltimore School for the Arts Choir, who will be singing two traditional Christmas songs Away The Away in a Manger and Silent Night. Oh. Oh. Oh, geez. They told me it was so high school.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/105324/file/205952#t=80.27,244.46"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/105324/file/205952/transcript/48873/annotation/2","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Oh, so. One need only think of the homeless, the unemployed, the affirmed, the starving and the hopeless to know that things are not what they should or could be. My special prayer during this festive time is that each and every one of us dedicate ourselves to do what we can to help those in need. Whether in Baltimore and Ethiopia, in India or wherever. I pray that each of us would give our gifts of love, caring, sharing, commitment ourselves to make this a more joyous time for all who suffer among us. Maybe then with this holiday, it will be the happy time we often dream about. And here with a happy tale is Baltimore's Grill, Mary Cotter Smith with a Liberian Christmas tale entitled Every Man Heart Lay Down. Lauren Graham tells this story the way that some people in Liberia speak. Long before your papa was born. Before your pause. Papa was born before hymns. Pause. Papa was born long time pass before the big tree. Live. At that time, God live and God look on the world. But He didn't make And God's heart no lay down because God walk in the town to see the people and God sit in the houses, to know the people. And God say All people know love one another. People no, walk my way. Never mind, never mind. Christmas is a very special time of the year indeed. You know, not everyone celebrates Christmas the same way. There are many people who celebrated differently, and that's what makes Christmas a very special time.
