The little guy. Silos. Sam. God. He's much bigger than you. Much bigger. I mean, he's now looking at you. Have you seen him before? I'd say 150 pounds. Obviously, you saved a few. You know, I couldn't. I couldn't believe it. I thought he was going to wreck the whole wreck that boy. But you just got him in the other wreck. You don't want to hurt this. He looks like a condominium right now. Watch it, Dave. Davey. Spread your last name to Meglio d I Capital, Emma's and Mary. E g l. I o. And your partner's name? Dwayne. Gil d w a y and e u d d u a and a g. I l l. Okay. And you guys have been in I mean, there's a lot of schools around town and you guys are in the the monster school professional wrestling. We we train students. They want to be in professional wrestling. We train them how to wrestle. We train them how to shoot interviews. Basically, we train them the ins and outs of the business. You, me, you say shoot interviews. You mean conduct interviews. How to be interviewed, Right. Well, in wrestling, it's very important to be charismatic or flamboyant. Talent or athletic ability isn't enough. In this business, you have to throw in a little P.T. Barnum. Well, are you flamboyant? Yes, I can be flamboyant in the ring. Sure. You controversial. So. So are you a nice guy or a bad guy? I'm definitely a bad guy in the ring. A bad guy, no doubt about it. Born and raised in Baltimore. Yes, it was Parkville, to be exact, from Baltimore County. And when you grew up, I imagine you were just a regular, normal kid. Yes, but I did overdose on Bruno Sammartino and George the Animal Steele as a youngster.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893#t=1.58,135.8"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893/transcript/71653/annotation/2","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"And I noticed in one of your school papers you wrote about maybe someday growing up and becoming a professional wrestler. Yes, I believe I wrote that in ninth grade. And that's what I'm doing now. So that's that's what dreams are made of. Did you really honestly, did you ever think someday you would grow up and become a professional wrestler? At that time, No. I was very skinny. I looked like a pipe cleaner attached to a head. I was playing basketball. I really enjoyed that. But what attracted me to wrestling was the personalities, the fierce contact. And it was a one on one sport. Couldn't blame the other four guys if it went wrong or the other eight guys. It was you and him. So you were you spent you spent the last couple of years as part of a tag team. Yes. Yes. I was in the cream team for four years. My partner was Rip Sawyer and we were rated in the top ten in the entire United States for about a two year run. However, we felt that we couldn't get any further. We couldn't take it to the next level. So now I'm teaming up with a gentleman named Romeo Valentino from the Corleone Mountains in Sicily. And together we are the fellows. So you're a good guy now? Absolutely not. What your name is. Well, the promoters call us the Goodfellas because we're both Italian. The crowd doesn't like us. They call us a lot of names. And if the referee gives us a five, count will fully take advantage of it. Well, what is your name now? I mean, you're your your hand. Or what do you go by in wrestling? Dino Casanova, a lover boy, sort of Casanova lover.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893#t=138.17,244.52"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893/transcript/71653/annotation/3","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Absolutely. And when you now when you're interviewed, I mean, and you're not a Baltimore boy or Dino Casanova, how do you how does Dino Casanova sound? Let me tell you how I said I come from the mountains in Sicily. You know what I mean? What's the matter for you? That's Dino Casanova. That. That. That. That is the man that the people love to hate. And that's not a park to act. Absolutely not. It's not even a good Sicilian one. But don't tell the fans how many guys Now, you and your partner, Dwayne, you got together. You opened this franchise here in ballroom only. How many in the in the country? Well, the monster factory is the only franchised wrestling school. There's four in America. There's five in North America. We have one in Canada also. So you guys are drawing down from as far away as where we we have students right now train in here, ones from Pennsylvania, ones from West Virginia. It pretty much comes from like a tri state area, just basically on the borders of Maryland. And again, you teach these young men and are some women in the U.S.? We train women wrestlers, managers, as well as referees. The total business of professional wrestling and some of the things you teach them, of course, is how to fall. Yes, this this is a lot. But I'll give you an analogy. It's a lot like if you go to a school to learn to fly airplanes, you can learn to take all safely. You can learn to land safely. Now, if I walked in here and gave you a body slam right now, chances are you may get hurt. And if somebody gave me one in there. Chances are I wouldn't get hurt because I know how best to take the impact off the fall.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893#t=244.89,357.64"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893/transcript/71653/annotation/4","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"So you can teach somebody how to take off. Right. And the land, I can't guarantee they won't get hurt. But if they listen to me, chances are they won't get hurt as often. Now, you got a big, big, big fellows. Matter of fact, there was one here today, big fella. Yeah, it's his name. And he can hit that ring and do all that. Absolutely. He's over 400 pounds. He wrestles is colossal Kong lasso. Who? Hong Kong and J. He is an up and coming student. We're real proud of him. And he may have met his match. A boy walked through here yesterday, weighed 505 pounds. Now Colossal Kong, when he wrestles, is he going to be a good guy or a bad guy? He can be whatever he wants to be. Now, let me ask you this for for fellows, for young folks who might have an inkling like you did when you were younger kid to try professional wrestling. Obviously, now the doors are a little bit easier to get into now than it was when when you were a little younger because there wasn't anything like a monster factory right there. Right. When I tried to get into wrestling, there was maybe two schools on the entire East Coast and I had to travel over two hours each way to train. So, yes, we are in a very convenient location. Baltimore is the hotbed of professional wrestling. So here it's it's much easier now for people who want to get into it. So what is your take? I mean, like it's somebody out there watching you. And right now, what's the message if they want to give this a shot, what's the message? If you want to be a professional wrestler? You have to have a ton of determination.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893#t=359.08,464.21"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893/transcript/71653/annotation/5","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"You have to have athletic ability. But more than anything, you have to love this business. It is a 24 hour a day job and it takes a lot of determination. It's not all glamor, it's not all glitz. It's a lot of hard work. Very good. But I need it. I need a good 12 second closed. Okay, Now, All right. If you're a young person and you'd like to give this a try, what what's what's your message to these kids? Folks, if you got the guts, if you got the determination and most of all, if you've got the athletic ability, come on down to Hanover, Maryland, and get monster sized. Yeah, sounds good to me. All right. Now, our hero been down here six nights a week. We just went to seven Monday through Friday, 6 to 9, Saturday and Sunday. 2 to 5 is expensive. Tuition is $3,000 per student. And his is employment more or less guaranteed. If you're if you we we guarantee that we will train the wrestler to have his first match and we guarantee to get him a professional wrestling license which would enable him to get further work. However, on average, we get our wrestlers about a dozen matches. We don't just turn them out and then say, Here's your one match. See you later. The monster factory is it's sort of exclusive. It's an elite group of guys. We're proud of our students. If our students make money and go on and be successful, it just helps the monster factory that much more. For every one student we accept, we turn away for. So. So obviously, you got to be pretty good, clean living to be an athlete. Absolutely. I mean, you can't be out drinking. And. No, I lift weights four times a week.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893#t=465.56,582.71"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136881/file/253893/transcript/71653/annotation/6","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"I train in the ring five times a week. I jog five times a week. If you're doing all that, you really don't have time to drink beer and eat potato chips. You don't get you don't get bodies like some of those guys. But again, sitting around drinking beer and eating. Right. Yeah, right. Yeah. So what's next for Dino and the Monster factory? Well, I hope the monster factory keeps running as successful as it is. We just signed a three year lease here, so I hope to stay here a while. As far as my wrestling career, I hope that Romeo and myself, the Goodfellas, go off to higher and bigger things. Like what? Franchise? I can see us Tag team Champions or the WCW or WWF. All we need is the opportunity taking on who, for instance? The Nasty boys, Kevin Sullivan and Cactus Jack. I don't care. Anybody. The core backers, the executioners. It doesn't matter. Gorgeous. Excellent. Interviewer. Usually people don't have the slightest idea what they ask in this business. Here. Give me a firm of everything I wanted to say. They do make their judgments make sense.
