You don't want to just go make a deal or whatever, but it's buried in the weeds. Yeah. Last time I saw you, lipstick was in the yoga. Yeah, I think that's what it is. It should work. Okay. We. They claim to have a crisis of confidence this year in their days and in the pride of Baltimore. Hard at work. Well, look at this. Oh, stop it. Stop worrying. For God sake, guys. That's what all the American women want. They want donations. It's here on curvy wheels. And are they doing some sort of, like, special, important work? Yeah, they're working on microphones. They're working on true togetherness, even though they really hate each other. So we're working on these psychiatric survey. And my body invaded my body. They tried to drive. Chris Curtis is a coach. Chris, please. Oh, my feelings. Hey, how are you guys doing? Mark, tell us how you feel. That's what I feel. How you feeling? How does it help you heave to this, this, this therapy? How do we how does it help you here to in Jive and all those night of how they work together in a team? What is it? Well, it's my girlfriend was here, but I got I should make sure I'll be all right. So if you guys could say one thing to the folks at home in Baltimore, if they want to send fans something nice and cash, please send my girl. You're a wonderful guy. Yeah, Yeah, No. Let's say hi. Oh, say hi to your best. Tiffany. Robyn. Sarah. I like that space in my family. Yeah. You can send Haagen-Dazs ice cream. That's what we really catch for sure. Plus, they tell us all the great things that are going on in the galley. Well, boy, tonight we were a little bit under the gun. The stove went out. But actually, it's not a new situation. It's happened on numerous occasions. What happens on this when the stove goes out and these folks are hungry and they're nowhere near. It's a drag. You just have to throw some peanut butter and crackers in the general direction and hope you can get things underway again. And thank goodness Paula Truss, the engineer, was able to fix things up. So tonight we have trusted Italian chicken, although it is, it is. See how it's doing here. It's not quite there, but it's getting there. Can you guys smell that? Yeah. Lord, I am so tired. How long can this go on? I could eat. I know I can stay fresh. Yes, it is. It smells well. But. You can listen to Christian music on 64 point something in the car. Jesus is the Christmas Day here. Well, this is not a stranger. Get to the top of that mountain. And. Do I look? All right, So I find out for my TV. Look, I can't really. I wouldn't kill you. Can you tell I don't have a bra for that? Family show. There's a there's a steady crew of 12 plus one captain. And yet you're a member of the crew as well. I'm a member of the land based crew as director of public relations. I spend most of my time working with the press in Baltimore and generating public interest in our visit and also very involved with our promotions, which aid our fundraising efforts. I was a member of the crew this time only so that I could come to know the boat a little bit better, which will then in turn help me talk to the audiences that I need to talk to about the Bay. Do you have a specific role, however, in addition to getting to know your time? Right. That's right. Because you have lots of people here. Well, the executive director, Parker Sutton, and I work as a team in that we divide the advance work and she will handle certain cities and I'll handle others. And to move this boat around requires that one of us visit the city or the port in advance and make local contacts and ensure a place for the boat to berth. And to be sure, we have water, electricity, transportation, showers.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/114044/file/216783#t=361.83,594.9"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/114044/file/216783/transcript/61559/annotation/4","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"But also we do spend a lot of time working with the local press to make sure that everybody knows about our open houses. Kirby, This isn't exactly the most glamorous part of the job, isn't it? No. What? What is it? You guys feel like we're doing so well to wash down? Mainly just to get the dirt off. The dirt. Also sort of preserves the wood and the decks. It doesn't rot. That's the reason we don't use fresh water. So when we finished, we have to go over it with fresh water in the varnish because salt water eats away varnish. Thank you. Yeah, sure. Again. And then you've got some in your. Getting the hose. Sings Taylor songs. Oh, I just think to myself. That way I don't intrude on anybody else's space. And I still get the spirit. What's the spirit of this? Is this. This is. This is it, man. This is it. This is what it all boils down to. This is why we're here, you know, swabbing the decks. You know, you all thought that was part of sailors lore, but this is it. This is really the romantic truth of working aboard a tall ship. You know, it's not bad. It's just something you do, and it keeps the boat presentable. So, I mean, besides helping the integrity of the boat, it helps keep the boat presentable. Makes it nicer to work on, you know, and live here, but get dirty pretty fast. It's not like your house. Well, it's been it's been great. I've learned a lot, made a lot of friends. Been interviewed on television for the first time, but I can remember seeing a lot of interesting places. I'm from Baltimore. And, you know, I thought, you know. Glad to be part of something that sort of represents the community in it in a positive way. What do you think it means that people back home don't even know anything about maritime life. They love the primaries. I mean, why you think people in Baltimore feel that way? I don't know. I don't know. I wonder about that myself. I think it's partly just a. A group, a group of people who were doing something that they really. Care about believe in that always gets people interested. You go, Wow, God, I don't know everything there is to know about life that I'm on about this ship or about nautical life in general. This business in general is pretty, pretty humbling. You always learn something new every day, you know? And that's just something you learn a lot every day. It's just, uh, filled with, uh, filled with learning experience. What does it mean to you personally to be a part of this project? Oh, no. Uh, gives me a lot of pride. You know, just to being able to, you know, help build it and then sell it.
