Some Annapolis residents narrowly escape injury as a gas leak develops in their neighborhood, and the push is on to get some city residents on the voting rolls. I'm Rick young. Frank Luber is off today. The first rehab express house sale by the city of Baltimore was a smashing success today as half of the $200 homes were sold. As Lisa Sharon reports, the new owners and the city are ecstatic over the sale. They began lining up Thursday for the city's $200 house homeowner's sale that actually began today, Saturday. The city has described its houses as the worst of the worst. But for many here, these properties represent the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Music teacher Jacqueline Dorsey and her husband, number 22, on a cue that wrapped around the convention center got their fifth choice. This house on Argyle Avenue. I am happy this is our first home. And so, you know, this is the best. Not everybody was quite so lucky. 285 people showed up to buy, but only 150 houses were sold as the choicest locations were quickly taken. These properties have been sold. I just came away without a house. I had ten choices and all of them had been taken. All of them? Yeah, all of them. The only hitch to the city's rehab express sale is that the houses must be rehabilitated in two years. Average estimated rehab costs between 25 and $45,000. Barring no problems, however, the sale is expected to eventually benefit everybody, including the city. The city would like to get a few nice things out of this, getting old houses fixed up and improving the housing conditions in neighborhoods, eventually getting a few tax dollars.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136043/file/252387#t=6.98,186.2"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136043/file/252387/transcript/70806/annotation/2","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"But the first part's the most important. This one reportedly involving $20,000 a week in cocaine and heroin deals. The latest bust began early today at this Burger King parking lot in Towson. It was here that county police arrested three men after an undercover narcotics agent allegedly bought drugs from them. A short time later, police arrested two women in the case at a northeast Baltimore apartment. Meanwhile, authorities continue to search for five more people allegedly involved in another heroin distribution ring. After an eight month investigation, police arrested 15 suspects in that case yesterday. They are believed part of an operation that traded heroin for food stamps at two city grocery stores. City police reported busting a separate major drug operation on Thursday. An escaped convict from the Maryland House of Corrections is back in custody today. State police say 32 year old Nelson Henderson was arrested walking along Route one in front of the Waterloo State Police barracks when he was apprehended by a trooper. Henderson escaped yesterday by hiding in a carton of toilet paper. He was serving a 12.5 year sentence for breaking and entering. Our misunderstanding is that slouching takes a lot of energy. It doesn't take much energy that we're relaxed, but it actually that's what we think. But actually, it does take a lot of energy with contracting muscles here and here. So we're kind of wearing ourselves out by using all these muscles unnecessarily. And Sydney says the. Well, very simply, and this is difficult to do all by yourself sometimes, but it's simply moving the head slightly, delicately forward and up in relationship to your neck and then letting your body follow that upward movement. Sydney says proper posture is not something you have to keep thinking about constantly, since it is an easier and more natural way to stand. It will quickly become habit with practice and while it does feel awkward at first, it also feels much easier on the back and the size of it can help in my tennis game.
