Thank you very much. As Greg started reporting live from the 41st Street Range. So what is ahead for Sunday? Here is Dr. Bob with a preview. What's it look like? Dr. Bob Forrester Taking a look at the radar right now. We see that the showers and most of the snow is not really it's kind of a mixed bag right now, but the stuff is out of down on the lower eastern shore. Not much going on in the central part of the state. What we expect for the evening hours now, a lingering flurry, maybe a little bit of freezing drizzle late tonight, but the falling temperatures give us some concern for freezing conditions on the road. If you're headed out tonight, you want to drive with care because we could see some icy patches on the road. But we've got a second half of this storm system to deal with tomorrow. We're going to rundown all the details of that. We get to the full, full, full forecast in just a few minutes. Right now, Pat, to you. Thanks, Doctor Bob. A ten year old is among two dozen suspected drug dealers arrested today in a sweep of what Police Commissioner Ed Woods calls the most violent section of the city. A task force went to work in the Eastern district today. They moved out with precision, hitting eight houses in East Baltimore, arresting suspects, seizing drugs and money. This has been going on for months. And as you know, the state has the authority to go out throughout the state to work on drug cases. But needless to say, we're down to Baltimore City. The FBI and the ATF, this would not have been successful was again, a cooperative effort. And I want to emphasize one by one, they were brought out, cuffed and walked to the paddy wagon.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136237/file/252785#t=3.15,88.08"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136237/file/252785/transcript/71036/annotation/2","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Suspects who will be charged with drug violations. The biggest news to come out of today's raids, the arrest of a ten year old boy who police say was carrying a gun and plenty of illegal drugs. We're talking about a ten year old. I've been in drug enforcement for 13 years, and that's the youngest child. Not hand in hand. We know that it's very violent and it's getting younger. And several workers have been saying for many years. But when you're talking about ten years old and he's carrying a handgun and 55 cans of heroin, it certainly is very frustrating and demoralizing when you see them coming at you. City, state and federal law enforcement officers have been working in the Eastern district since last summer in terms of crime, and it's the most violent in the city, and that's why this area was selected. We've been anticipating it was in conjunction with all the federal agencies and the state police. We've been. Participating in this initiative since August, the raids will continue. Police are committed to arresting as many drug suspects as possible, and not just in the Eastern District, but citywide. State Police Superintendent Larry Tolliver says this is the only way to address violent crime. In other news, police in and around the county are searching tonight for a man believed to have adopted a 12 year old girl in Annapolis. The girl's sister apparently left her sister in the car with the motor running in front of an Annapolis hotel Friday afternoon. That's when police say a man jumped into the car and drove to a nearby gas station. He robbed the station, then drove to a fast food restaurant where he left the girl and the car. The 12 year old, fortunately, was not injured.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136237/file/252785#t=88.77,179.29"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136237/file/252785/transcript/71036/annotation/3","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Well, the US Naval Academy is charging four of its midshipmen with assaults. Actually, we didn't get it in freezing conditions, so we're actually kind of a nice scenic snow earlier today. But we do have some problems to talk about. As we alluded to earlier, some freezing temperatures are possible this evening. And then tomorrow, we're looking at the second half, so to speak, of this storm system, which could cause some real problems. Let me show you the current conditions here. And in fact, as we alluded to before the break, now, the temperatures are very crucial. So let me go show you what's going on around the state right now, because we have seen temperatures pretty much right around a 30 degree mark. 30 degrees in Cumberland and pretty much the same story north and east. Also to the south, just a little bit warmer. Salisbury 34 and 35 degrees down at Richmond. Now as these temperatures fall below 30 degrees tonight. Be careful that some of the water that's on the roads could conceivably freeze making for icy patches. We don't see a lot of additional precipitation occurring tonight, but what water there is could possibly freeze. Now, we are looking at a system here, shows up pretty well, going back a few hours on the satellite map. Here are the clouds we have had as we set it into motion. You'll notice these clouds drifting off will gradually dissipate during the overnight. But coming on the upstream position, another storm system. Now, this storm system here has all the potential to produce an even more serious threat for freezing rain and drizzle tomorrow. In fact, the three part system shows up on a current situation, this low pressure system drifting off, this one drifting off, not really a threat. This system, as it moves into the area, will bring us the clouds, certainly the clouds overnight, but also some early morning flurries. And in fact, this will demonstrate bringing this stuff closer to home. Our clouds coming in from the west. Look for some snow flurries early in the morning. A little bit later, some more snow flurries coming in from the southwest. Not at all out of the question. And then the other day, you're in this some sleet and freezing rain.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136237/file/252785#t=492.08,585.32"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136237/file/252785/transcript/71036/annotation/7","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"So tomorrow we could see just about a whole mixed bag. But the potential for accumulation tomorrow, how well we hold out the prospect of 1 to 3in of accumulation. Plus, throw some freezing rain in that tomorrow afternoon into tomorrow night could end up being a real nasty affair. Once again, the temperatures very crucial through all of this. Tomorrow, we expect to have highs now throughout the area, generally speaking, below the freezing mark. So that's our concern for tomorrow, being a little bit more threatening than today. A little closer to home, you can get a picture of your neighborhood. Temperatures 30 degrees downtown. Again, upper 20s outside the beltway, a little bit warmer down near the water bodies. Now, an additional feature of this situation is out on the bay. We have a coastal flood watch in effect. Strong northeast winds overnight, 15 to 30 knots will be pushing the high tides on the western shore, particularly sandy Annapolis area. Down along the marinas on the western slope or the western shore of the bay. High tides will occur both along the ocean and in the bay between, say, 830 to 9:00 tonight, 830 to 9:00 tomorrow morning. So if you live in those areas, you might want to pay some attention to that possibility. Now, our forecast then for tonight, we're looking for leftover flurries with freezing drizzle possible. And as you mentioned before, roads could be icy in spots. And here's the reason, that overnight low of 26 degrees and tomorrow we're looking again at that mixture, clouds bringing us snow flurries and morning flurries and freezing rain possible that occurs likely in the afternoon. 1 to 3in of accumulation is possible. Tomorrow's high temperature, 30 degrees and a low. Not much different. 30 for the overnight.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136237/file/252785#t=585.68,683.63"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/136237/file/252785/transcript/71036/annotation/8","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Our five day forecast then on tomorrow. The fire erupted here at the Hamilton Ridge complex in northeast Baltimore just after 7:00 tonight. Before the blaze was contained, 22 units had been burned out. 60 people left homeless. And fire investigators left wondering how this suspicious fire began. One, a fire is being fed by natural gas. It really gets off and rolling. And when this fire began in the basement of 4812 Hamilton Avenue, people ran for their lives. It was smoke and there was no coming for the doors to the basement of the. Smell the smoke. We started looking for is eBay for all to do with everybody else. Thank God that we got out of it because the smoke was so thick. We came out the door. I was happy to have my life over. What is so difficult besides the gas and fighting this fire? That's that's the main thing. That's that's the main problems for us is the gas. William Jenkins, his wife Camille, and their two year old daughter, Whitney, look next to the utility room where the fire seems to have started. I see the front of the house and I try to kick the next door neighbor. And they have a lot of effort in the house and kick our door. And we got her to help it off. I tracked the phone outside, grab my stuff on the grass. It's the only thing I got. And I closed my car. Firefighters continue their battle for more than two hours. They had to wait for any crews to come to turn off the gas. One man was arrested for getting in the way of firefighters. All of the apartment units in the building were destroyed. It's been a tough night for city firefighters who were thankful at least about the freezing rain that had been predicted wasn't there to also get in their way. Well, power only halfway through this episode we did all right. Today, the temperatures held up to keep us from real freezing conditions. The tough job of this job, I hear from the mayor, but that's the story. Well, actually, we can talk about some other city workers, too, because people have been out repairing the road services for some of those freezing conditions that we talked about. Salt crews have been out. Again, we anticipate only localized problems during the overnight with areas where water has collected, say, puddles that will freeze, maybe producing some of the coldest from this afternoon with the puddles around. Many of the roads have dried out considerably from what we were showing you, this picture of this vantage point this afternoon, because our temperatures now having dropped below freezing.
