Captain Carrot says that there's something called accu pitch that can stop pain dead in its tracks. And it's easy. And we take a great tank of gas getaway with Bob Smith to the fun place up North Hershey Park, P.A.. You know, there are right ways to prune and write tools to use for pruning. I'm Gerry Baker, and I'm sure you the right tool and the right way to do summer pruning. First of all, make sure that you use sharp instruments and only use the size tool it's necessary to do the job. This is a pair of pocket pruners should be carried around all of the time. If you're going to take branches as big as your wrist, you would use a small hands. If you're going to use branches that are too big for this to handle, you would what we use what we call a loafer and make sure that they're sharp. And when you do any cutting on the tree, take a good look at it to find out which way it's going to look the best and try to keep the centers open. Always cut just below a branch dropping down. So if I cut here, I still have that leader coming down to cover and becomes a new leader. When you do any cutting at all, make sure that you seal the wounds and the wounds can be sealed with pruning paint either painted on or in an aerosol form where I always keep handy and you watch me use it before I use lipstick. And on any of the cuts that I have made, I always seal them off no matter how small they are.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492#t=80.54,172.62"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492/transcript/38967/annotation/2","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"And that's what you can do by having just a small tube of lipstick. You can take care of small cuts. If you say, now, wait a minute, I mean, why not these great big ones, you don't have to do the little ones. The more careful you are with your plants, the more you're going to get out of the plant. And remember, the plants are like people. Every wound bleeds. So always to first aid on your plants. Western scientists are still pretty much baffled by the Oriental art of acupuncture. While there is still a great deal of skepticism, there's also some new respect for the acupuncturist needles. There's also interest in allied disciplines like acupressure, which is done with a person's fingers instead of the acupuncturist needles. One of the reasons that these disciplines have such a hard time being accepted is that they're basically so very simple. Well, some top team physicians and trainers around the country are also using one of these very simple acupressure methods called the acute pinch, to help relieve the pain caused by muscle cramps. I'm talking about top team doctors like Dr. Donald Cooper at Oklahoma State University, who was also the 1968 Olympic team doctor. Now, they say that the occupants works to relieve the muscle cramps, but they have no idea why. Well, if you're a person that gets a cramp now and then from exercising or what have you, here's how you do it. First of all, you're going to grasp the area above the upper lip with your thumb and forefinger. You're going to clasp it in a rather broad grip like that. Squeeze for 15 to 20 seconds. And that's what they do to relieve those muscle cramps. It obviously doesn't get rid of the basic cause of the cramp is going to get rid of the symptoms for a while.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492#t=172.74,273.65"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492/transcript/38967/annotation/3","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"So if you want to get rid of muscle cramps occupants, the only thing you have to worry about is hurting your lip. Hi. I'm Bob Smith. With a tank of gas. Get away. That reminds me of childhood excursions. A trip to Hershey, Pennsylvania, where even the streetlamps have chocolate kisses. Milton Hershey established this town to produce Hershey's Chocolate. To find out about this interesting man visit Founders Hall. It's on the grounds of the school, which also bears his name and provides an education for children who otherwise would not be able to afford it. If you want to find out about the history of chocolate, visit Hershey's Chocolate World. Inside this building, there's a 20 minute presentation that's fun free, and it's just across from the entrance to Hershey Park. Hersheypark has been a favorite since it opened in 1907 and in its 75th year. It's bigger and better than ever. It has seven theme areas, including kid stuff, a mini park for children. Zoo America features animals of North America. Don't miss the thrill ride, including three roller coasters. My favorite is the comet. The thrill of sinking a ten foot putt can be yours at any one of Hirsch's five golf courses. Perhaps your idea of fun is taking time to smell the roses. You can do that with 23 acres of Hershey Gardens. It's near Hershey Park. It has six internationally themed gardens. The Hershey Museum of American Life features an extensive collection of American artifacts. Through July, there'll be a special exhibit, Treasures of a Concepcion, a Spanish galleon, which sank in 1641 to reach Hershey from Baltimore. Take 83 north to Harrisburg and 322 east to Hershey. You might call him America's James Bond. We've got some great things coming up for you in tonight's department. Chef Telles going to show you how to make a glazed breast of veal that I think you'll find is mouthwatering. Joan Embry will introduce you to a very special little animal called Billy the Badger. And Jesse Green let you know about some things happening around town this weekend, including the Caribbean Festival. Hi. This evening I would like to show you how to make a place. Place to feel. Now, the rest of the world is right out of this party, and it comes with a lot of bones. And you have to ask the butcher, you cut the bones on the bones. And this side, as you can see, that's the way they come in. And then you cut them out. You can do it yourself, too, but it's a living life. That's the other side. And it's really not much meat on it, but a piece of meat like this, you can buy it for a dollar, $80, £90. So a piece like this serves probably 6 to 8 people and it goes to like $4. It's very nice. So when you have a piece like this, you cut it in a smaller piece, just cut it lengthwise like this. And if just a table is not as big or you always think when you cut it like this again and don't be like it looks completely different after you cook it, you take it like this.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492#t=410.44,514.809"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492/transcript/38967/annotation/5","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Add some side. Not too much, of course. Little pepper, you put it in one of those pans upon it. Often each side, you put it in the oven, you glaze it off with a little bit more. The ones that are like the image has no more than a yard, a little bit of water, which is a surprising. Then when it comes out, it looks like this. Now you see the color transform the water in from the browning. That's how you get this nice color. I didn't add anything to it. Please believe me. Let's see how it came out west of veal. Very inexpensive, a very nice dish, and you probably even knew how to cook it. So you take this, we'll make some nice slice. It's not even that hard anymore. Slice it down. And it's really nice to see. It's lean, it's tender, it's just beautiful. Put it on a little blade like this. Self of it, some vegetable if you like. I make a cup and still find vegetable. You get some nice colors in a dish like this close to having not more than two or $3 a person. I mean that's really inexpensive for nice beautiful we add a little bit of the sauce and up and just look at this. So please go to your butcher and ask for breast of veal and I'm sure you can do it till then. I see you also. Right for the recipe. That's delicious. Tender. Just fantastic. Oh. Tonight, we're going to get a close up look at a common but seldom seen North American mammal. I am John Emery, the San Diego Zoo, and this is five month old Billy the Badger. They have an amusing waddling gait and loose fur on their back and sides because of their nocturnal life. Little is known about the badgers habits. Even their young are born underground in nest of leaves and grass. Billy was raised in our zoo nursery and as he grows, many of our visitors will get their first look at this amazing, seldom seen creature. And there's another great opening in Baltimore this weekend. Hi, I'm Jake Green. You're a Baltimore cabdriver. Naturally, we're talking about Pier three, where the aquarium will be opening tomorrow. And there are a couple of things in there that I think I'll give you a sneak preview of. Come on. When you come to the top of the aquarium, this is the astounding view that you'll get over the harbor. And here I am standing right in the middle of the beautiful rainforest. It is gorgeous. I can appreciate the workmanship that has gone into this place and having to wait until tomorrow for the opening. It's all been worth it because it's absolutely so beautiful. Look at these coral reefs. The only way you can have seen anything more beautiful is to have gone to the main aquarium, the ocean. Now it's going to cost for 50 for adults, 250 for children, and under three is free. But I suggest that you get a membership, pay $40 and come as many times as you want. John Embry introduces us to a family of Mandrill Monkeys. And Jesse Green talks about all the great things going on this weekend, including the Hispanic Festival. Hi. This evening, I'd like to show you how to make a pesto. So it's an Italian sauce. Maybe basil fits all your pasta, and it's really great. You have to start off with some fresh basil, approximately one cup, put it baseline, the food processor, whatever you have at home, then some fresh parsley, Dijon parsley, logically, whatever you have some parmesan cheese, that's enough so that you can unite all the ingredients. You can wait for the recipe to some clarified powder.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492#t=722.25,842.61"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492/transcript/38967/annotation/8","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Not too much. Some olive oil. Of course, it's Italian, white, and 1 to 2 cloves of garlic. All right. The next ingredients are pine nuts. Pine nuts cost now like $2.50 one ounce. So I use some slivered almonds, which only cost $0.45. And there's not much difference in taste as well, believe me. Well, I wouldn't tell it to you. You put all in these ingredients and you turn the machine on and you want it to a very pasty consistency and should not be too liquid or too thick. If it's too thick, you can add a little bit more oil to it, and that's all that is. It's a very nice sauce. Good for pastas, good for tortellini. I even could put it on potatoes once in a while. It's really quick. Let it run till it's still a little cause you don't want to pull it. Hold on a second. And the way it looks, can you see it? It's nice. Green, very colorful. You can see pieces of the almonds and deposited. It's just fantastic. I wish you good luck, please. Right. For the recipe. And I feel. Oh, that's Italian. One of the most spectacular monkeys here in our collection at the San Diego Zoo is the Mandrill Baboon. Hi, I'm Joan Embry, and this is the newest member of our troupe, Freddy. Male baboons are extremely colorful. Their faces are shades of purple, blue and brilliant scarlet. Females have less pronounced color and are smaller. Both the males and the females have sitting pads called issue colossal, which in the females swelled during breeding season. These are often misunderstood by our visitors who think they are abnormal. You know, most people think that the show's done here in Hollywood are all filmed on soundstages, when, in fact, many of them are done on location. And coming up with those locations is a difficult job. Tonight, we're going behind the scenes in Hollywood to meet a woman who has come up with an unusual service to track down those locations. This is Beverly Meltzer, the founder of Location Enterprises. People who need settings for movies, TV shows and commercials come to Beverly. And if just a table is not as big or you always think when you cut it like this again and don't be like it looks completely different after you cook it, you take it like this.","format":"text/plain"},"target":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492#t=410.44,514.809"},{"id":"https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/76292/file/162492/transcript/38968/annotation/20","type":"Annotation","motivation":"transcribing","body":{"type":"TextualBody","value":"Add some side. Oh. Some olive oil. Of course, it's Italian, white, and 1 to 2 cloves of garlic. All right. The next ingredients are pine nuts. Pine nuts cost now like $2.50 one ounce. Both the males and the females have sitting pads called issue colossal, which in the females swelled during breeding season. These are often misunderstood by our visitors who think they are abnormal.
