He had been wanted in connection with two Pennsylvania murders. He very nearly killed Tevi Rosen of Baltimore County. Corporal Rosen was lucky. He suffered a bullet wound in the hand trying to arrest Dollinger Charters are facing a Maryland couple who attended a bluegrass festival in Delaware yesterday Steve Kane and his wife Gillian Apparently left their seven -month -old daughter locked inside their car at Gloryland Park Passersby noticed the baby was having trouble breathing two hours had gone by the baby was eventually rushed to Christiana Hospital A couple charged with reckless endangerment. Yes, from the rulers. on the back of your lower hand. okay school phobias it is safe to say that it one time or another all kids try to get out of going to school we used to call playing hooky but school phobia when a child fearfully and stubbornly refuses to go to school or may even get physically ill sick to their stomach at the prospect of going to school is an entirely different situation it's much more like fear of flying or fear of heights that some adults have as many as one out of ten children at some point may develop a true school phobia which causes them to miss as much as one -third to one -half of all their class days in a year. Now school phobias usually occur with young elementary school children but can also be found in high school students and I personally know of at least one individual who had about a school phobia in grade school and then a reoccurrence of it during their freshman year of college. Now school phobias usually have more than one cause including things like separation anxiety. or an intense fear a child has of being away from his parent, particularly his mother. Now another cause is fear of the school itself, or fear of the teacher. The child may feel that they can't do the work, that it's too hard for them, and they might feel that the teacher is going to somehow punish them or harm them. Now another reason may be that staying at home is more rewarding than going to school. In school you have to work, at home you can watch TV or play. And lastly, sometimes a child refuses to go to school as a way of calling attention into an intolerable situation at home. like constant fighting by parents. I didn't say that, their own AMA did. In excess of 4 ,000 doctors are addicted to drugs and they're misusing a wider variety of drugs than ever before. And doctors are crying. Despite a decade of reforms, work conditions for medical students are worsening. The life of the graduate medical student is getting tougher because of curtailed budgets and threats of malpractice, increased patient load, long hours. A resident who is overstressed physically and mentally fatigued is a medical menace. He's a threat to the patients in his care. Now the first ever strike by doctors in the United States was in 1975, and the only grievance was extreme overwork. Residents working 125 hours a week, 50 hours at a stretch. Unions now represent many medical residents, but there will be no more striking because medical schools have turned out such a surplus. And foreign medical trainees have so flooded the United States that the competition so keen some foreign trained physicians are working without pay. In September of 1984, I called the teaching hospital our country's last sweatshop. It still is.
