Back to you. Thank you. Two and a 7:30 in the news this morning. Breaking news from Cecil County. Eyewitness news crews lead police to a suspected killer who is only 16 years old. Here's exclusive video. As police in Cecil County arrest Allen Chestnut and charged him as an adult with stabbing 52 year old Beulah Honaker to death early Wednesday morning. Eyewitness news reporter Dennis Edwards first pointed out chestnut to police when he saw the teen's hands were covered with blood the other day. Dozens of police officers spent yesterday combing the area around Honaker House looking for clues. Chestnut is being held at the Cecil County Detention Center this morning. A rash of crimes and now seven arrests. And most of the suspects are students at Westminster High in Carroll County. Kathy Fowler reports the charges ranged from drugs to theft to arson. These charred pieces of wood are believed to be the handiwork of some Westminster High School students. Police say this house, under construction on Green's Mill Road, was one of the homes the students tried to burn down. But subcontractor Robert Mueller says the students were chased off before they did the real damage. The house had caught on fire, so he went back to do. The other guy said, you are chasing it so far, but they never did figure they had a description of the car, but that's all they had. They didn't have any tag number reference. But police caught up with their suspects. Mr.. Why did you start that fire? 20 year old Augustus Mason was arrested today, along with six other juveniles that go to Westminster. Some of these students are charged with arson, possession of drugs, shoplifting and auto theft. He's 20 year old junior Kevin Austin, a suspect in the rape of a 12 year old girl in Woodlawn. And police say the girl's family knows him. Person who is known to the, 12 year old girl, came into the family home. Raped her, sexually assaulted her, and then left. When the girl's mother came back, the events were described to her. She called police. And police say that junior Kevin Austin is very dangerous. If you see him, call 911. And here's something that will have you buzzing this morning. The latest bombing happened in this residential neighborhood, killing one person and causing more than 30 other families to have to find a new place to sleep overnight. Most of the people cannot return to their homes, probably until tomorrow afternoon. As a precaution until this, inspection is completed. It was a bomb. I hope it was a bomber. And he's dead. We don't have to worry about it anymore. It's. It's really unnerving. When I was at the scene. Originally when I first got here. Today, there are two structures, a residence and a garage. And from my angle of view. I did not see destructive results. In particular, if you ask the question in relationship to the church from Sunday, nowhere near from my angle of view. Federal agents, including the ATF and the FBI, are in the small town looking for clues. But until explanations are given, no one in Danville is likely to get a good night's sleep. This is especially frightening for folks who live in the Danville area, because this is the third apparent bombing around here in the last six months. Five days ago, a bomb went off in a church, injuring 33 people. Six months ago, though, another bomb went off at a church, killing one person. Good morning Jane. While police were called to this exclusive neighborhood here in the San Fernando Valley, to the home of 49 year old Phil Hartman and his wife, Brynne, 40 year old former model. They shared their home with their two children, and what the police found inside has shocked the Hollywood community. His girlfriend, the boy's natural mother, will stand trial on identical charges in July. The widow of an Eastern Shore School bus driver killed in an accident last fall is part of a lawsuit now. This was the scene on route 50 near Easton when a tractor trailer hit a school bus. The bus driver, Wardell Bryce, was killed. 27 students were injured. Bryce's widow and the mother of the mothers of five injured children say the company that owned the tractor trailer failed to provide proper supervision for its driver, who had previous speeding convictions. And think traffic in Baltimore and Washington is bad. The federal government wants to help. US. An area teenagers charged with killing his neighbor, and two of our news people become newsmakers in the process. Two days ago, a woman was found murdered at her home in the town of northeast. Last night, a teenage neighbor was charged with that crime. And it was Eyewitness News reporter Dennis Edwards and photographer Alan Caulk who pointed the young man out to police. Dennis is now live in northeast along Bethel Church Road to tell us the story. Dennis. Well, you know, it happened about 1:00 on Wednesday afternoon. We walked up to him and asked him if he knew her and if he knew where she lived. There was blood between the fingers, blood in the crevices of his hand. We asked him exactly what happened. Don? We asked him how his hand got like that. He said he cut it to the bone inside the house, working, but he wouldn't go into exactly what happened. We went down the street and we found the house. We told state police they sent detectives out, and after a search of the crime scene and the suspect's home, state police arrested 16 year old Alan Chestnut and charged him with first degree murder. State police aren't saying much about motive, but they believe chestnut stabbed a Beulah Honaker to death in her northeast home sometime Tuesday. Her boyfriend discovered the body around 2:00 Wednesday morning. Through the various different searches. I mean, you're talking. A search of the residents in search of the yard, the wooded area surrounding that, suspect's residence. So we're in the suspect, and we've recovered some some evidence. Right. Although police aren't saying much about this case, they did tell us that Honaker died of multiple stab wounds to the body, to the chest area. Now, chestnut is in the Cecil County Jail right now awaiting a bail review hearing. Kelly Dunn okay, thank you very much. As you see, Dennis Edwards continues to work that story. And once again it ends in death. Today's shooting happened in South Florida outside Stranahan High School near Miami. Both of the people died at the scene, and police are trying to find a connection between the two. A jealous rage may have resulted in the deaths of comedian Phil Hartman and his wife yesterday. Police say the 49 year old actor and former cast member on Saturday Night Live was shot and killed by his 40 year old wife Brynne, who later took her own life. Published reports say that Hartman was leaving his wife for another woman. The couple's two young children were in the house at the time of the shootings, but they were not hurt. Back here, and thanks to you, police now have in custody a 20 year old accused of raping a 12 year old. The man, junior Kevin Austin of Clifton Road in the Woodlawn area, is charged with several different sexual sexual offenses involving a young girl as she slept in her bed on Wednesday morning. A TVU TV viewers saw this photo and Austin and called police. More details when we know them. In Carroll County, half a dozen high school students at a young adult were arrested yesterday. 20 year old Augustus Wilson is the only man charged as an adult, but he and the six Westminster Senior High students are accused of a whole series of crimes, including shoplifting, stealing cars, setting fires and doing drugs. At one, chestnut lived only three doors away from Buehler. Honaker, the 52 year old grandmother's body was found early Wednesday morning by her boyfriend and her northeast home. Police say she died of multiple stab wounds to the chest. Chestnut was arrested after state police discovered inconsistencies in his story about a bloody hand wound, and after they gathered physical evidence from a search of his home. You're talking, a search of the residence in search of the yard, the wooded area surrounding it. Suspect's residence. So we. And the suspect, and we've recovered some some evidentiary items. Neighbors say chestnut and his family lived here only a few weeks. They were trying to clean up the house when Wanda wound, and they met the 16 year old. Just very, very polite. State police say he put up a sign on his bus that said danger Bomb on board. A motorist saw it and called police. The bus was stopped in Prince George's County and evacuated. No bomb was found and the trip continued on. A 54 year old nurse's assistant at the Alice Manor Nursing home is charged with rape tonight. I think we can zoom in actually a little bit closer and get a better look at this, but you notice they are coming right in toward the northwest part of the Beltway. This is in a Pikesville area. We'll be headed into Timonium, Coffeyville area, also along route 40 toward Ellicott City and also Woodlawn. So this is advancing through the area. And over the next hour to hour and a half will be moving across Baltimore. These red areas are pretty decent thunderstorm cells. Good bit of lightning out of these. Maybe some heavy downpours in some spots. Come on back to the big picture because once this moves through the area, these temperatures will be changing rather considerably. We're at 76 right now. The rain of course, should drop the temperatures down oh 7 or 8 degrees, but won't immediately relieve the humidity. But then this moves back over the top of us, bringing warm and humid conditions back into the region for Sunday. High temperature tomorrow like I said into the mid 80s. That's above normal, but the way you really notice it is in lower humidities and a little less haze and ozone, or a lot less haze and ozone tomorrow. So for the rest of tonight, we'll be dealing with the thunderstorms right away. In fact, they're moving into the Baltimore area right now once they move on through.
