Let's look up at our prayer request. Touch people's lives through an open door policy at our church. And that policy is because of you, because it's your house. And we ask you right now that you would come upon this congregation and a glorious feeling that each heart would be filled with joy and happiness to overflowing. We ask you now Lord that you would touch our preaching this morning, touch our singing, that it would be to your glory. And whatever we do, may you be the center of that attention. We asked you that you would touch these prayer requests this morning. Lord, there's so many needs in the world today. The death and destruction and the misleading, the evil that's going on. We just ask you that you would help those that are in need and lift them up. Help them to see that God is real. We're not worshiping a dead God. We're worshiping a God that listens and a God that answers. And we just ask you right now Lord to touch each one of these prayer requests and help those that are in need of physical problems that doctors will receive. We ask this in your name, who taught us to say when we pray, our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Lead us not in temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thy is the kingdom. the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. Amen. Let's take our Bibles and turn to Isaiah. It's not often I do the Old Testament, but I try to do it once in a while to remind us that it's a part of the Bible as well. Isaiah chapter 9 I want to start with verse 2 and I want to read through verse 7. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light. They that dwell in the land of the shadow of death upon them has the light shine. Thou hast multiplied the nations. increased the joy. They joy before their, according to the joy in harvest. And as men rejoice, then they are divided, or divide the spoils. For thou hast broken the yoke of his bondage, and the staff of his shoulder. the Old Testament, that it has given us the look forward to a Christ, and how it has predicted the coming. a savior. And we just ask you now that we could use this to strengthen and to increase what we believe in today. Blessed by a God that's alive and well, we pray. Okay. After. every day of destruction. We have the threat every day of running out of fuel. We have a threat of running out of electricity. We have a threat of all of the problems. All the cold weather we've had the last couple of days, our BG\u0026E and all the other electric companies had to cut back on our supply of electric, they had to limit the amount of natural gas that we were using. They asked companies to shut down, but not one church asked anybody to cut back on how much prayer they had or how many times they prayed. You know, our world is so wanting to get something out there, but they keep forgetting what's free. They keep wanting to get more of the products. We can see it in our economy, how it's dropping. We see it in our church attendance that people have kind of give up. But God has said that as long as we live, there shall be enough of Him to go around. If we look at Jesus... in the way that we're supposed to, 33 and a half years here on this world, just where we walk. something about those people they were worried about to hear after. Thanks for watching! wonderful counselor, the mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace, all those have come to be. But let's go back and see why they said that. Christ is our personal Lord and Savior. We break a bondage of something. the bondage to sin. You know, those days when I got down on my knees that first time when I asked the Lord to came off. See, because I was bound to the world as what it was. And I was going to tell fire and brimstone right on into whatever it was that I was chasing. and I became free, and through this I could get up and be myself, be a person that I wanted to be, and I said to God, use me, whatever it was, use me, here I am, take me. You know what the amazing part is? That we give up bondage of the world and bond to God. But it's a different kind of bondage. The bondage of the world holds us tight and keeps us on a short lease. Every once in a while, I really give him a treat. I unhook, delete. With God. God, at some times, keeps us drawn close, because the dangers are out there. When we're walking down the road, and he's walking beside me, I don't want a car to run over my little dog. And God is like that with us. He doesn't want something to happen to us, So he keeps us pulled close. Other times he lets us out a little ways because he knows that there's no immediate danger. But the danger's out there, so he's keeping us on lease, but letting us have a freedom. And then other times he unhooks that lease because there's no danger at all in sight. And he lets us do what we want to do, and we always end up. right there.
