Before noon, one man is robbed and shot. He's in serious condition. Then just hours later, another man is robbed, then murdered. City police converged on Cherry Hill this afternoon. Two armed men wearing ski masks walked onto the porch of 3313 round road. Timmy Davis was standing there talking to friends. Edwina Broadway says this is what happened next. And they look up the street and see someone with a gun or someone saying to give, give, give me it all. And the person gave it to them and they still shattered. Veronica Lloyd lives just next door. I was in the house and all I heard was the shot. One shot. And then what did you do? I didn't do anything. He stayed in the house. Now, police say after the shooting, both men fled on foot, terrifying those who were outside. It's a lot of children in this neighborhood. And for children to be out there playing and for someone just to be there at all, just to walk up and just to shoot someone in cold blood. This is what scared Edwina Broadway even more is just about three hours earlier, the owner of this red bus was robbed at gunpoint, then shot. James Johnson lived right around the corner at 900 Coppin Court. Police are investigating a possible link between the two bloody incidents. Neighbors say this part of Cherry Hill is normally quiet. No suspect, no motive so far. These latest murders in Baltimore raise the homicide rate in the city to 141 for this year. And most of them, the victim was killed with a handgun. Today, the Justice Department released some statistics regarding handguns. Every year in this country, for example, almost 640,000 Americans face handguns in the commission of a crime. More than 9000 of them are murdered with these handguns and 15,000 people are shot and wounded by the guns. Ocean City police are following through on their promise to crack down on noise on the resort. Since the city's new noise ordinance went into effect this summer, over 400 people have been arrested for violating the ordinance. Violators face up to $500 in fines and 15 days in jail. Ocean City officials hope their efforts are making life more enjoyable for vacationers and full time residents. A lot of the Ocean City noise is brought about because people drink too much and get out of control. In fact, a recent study shows that young people are drinking more than ever. But as Andrea Koppel reports, a Baltimore tavern owner has the alternative for people who want to have fun without alcohol. It's called the dry dock. And at first glance, it looks like just about every other bar here in Canton. They've got pool tables, a jukebox. Some evenings they've even got a live band. And of course, they've got a bartender. We had two clouds. We couldn't seem to shake the cloud cover today. Notice the billowing thunderstorms in the southeast, but warm air continues to flow into the midsection of the country. And that warm air is going to be felt in the Baltimore area when we hit over 90 degrees tomorrow. Here's how it shapes up on the fronts. The mild air that moved in will be giving way as this boundary gives way and this frontal system moves in our direction. On the forecast map, it looks like this.
