It's a little shower activity. We're gonna show you that on the radar in just a second. We'll take our instant eye outside and take a look at it at this moment. And there's some flowers popping out. Anyway, the rain is good for the flowers. That's good, not good for the dads, but good for the flowers. And shower is good for dad tomorrow anyway. Maybe he needs one. That'll be good. Here's the temperature right now, 74 out in town, 73 out in the suburbs, winds from the southeast at 8, humidity 53%, barometer 3 -0, .02, and it's falling. Here's your next high and low tide, actually a low and high tide in the sunrise and a sunset for you. We'll take a look at the local radar now. There are some showers in the area. They're coming in from the west, they're moving in the easterly direction, of course, they're coming in from the west. Thank you very much. They're gonna, they're to the north of the city, down to the south of the city, they're sort of scattered all over the place. Got some in Washington? and also uh... in the panhandle west virginia will take a look at the the temperatures around the area now too as the rain starts to come down over us seventy one up in frederick and seventy martinsburg out to the sixties out to the west and on the other side sixty nine up in dover seventy seven salisbury winds are from the southwest ten to twenty miles per hour and on the cloud cover we'll show you some real messy stuff coming up here look at this in the southeast they're having showers and thundershares lucky this wasn't for us tomorrow this is going to be with them for next couple of days we got high pressure that's them a lot of humidity off the golf. and that's gonna stay with them for a while. Otherwise the cloud activity we have come in with a warm front. We'll show you just a moment on the forecast map. Here's what it looks like shower wise for everybody with a radar. There it is. The rain, the showers are gonna come our way. They're gonna move through pretty quickly, but they'll be scattered tonight and tomorrow again for the southeast. They're gonna have showers, thundershowers tomorrow on the forecast map. Here's what it looks like. This is why it's all happening. Warm front is gonna move up. It's moving up from Tennessee. It's moving pretty quickly. A cold front associated with that is giving us Showers. and the sun thundershowers for tomorrow now behind that high pressure so we're gonna have a nice day uh... for monday but it'll be a hot nice day for changes high pressure is gonna cool things off behind that a fast moving cold front that thing's gonna storm through on tuesday and then ahead of that showers thundershowers but for wednesday and thursday and possibly friday nice couple of days so let's take a look at our forecast and for tonight mostly cloudy a couple of showers thundershowers overnight low of sixty two degrees And for tomorrow... some clouds. It's gonna be humid though tomorrow. Chance of thundershowers high of 83. There will be some sunshine tomorrow. There'll be some sunshine around so it won't be all bad. Just wait for it and give dad his turtle wax and everybody go out and have a good time for a couple of minutes. Here's our five day forecast. Cloudy, 83 degrees for tomorrow. Again, there will be some portions of sunshine. 89 for Monday, thundershowers with a cold front coming through on Tuesday, 75 for Wednesday, 75 for Thursday. Beautiful by the end of the week. Earl really has them going, Debbie. Day two of Earl two at the stadium today, the script was very similar to last night's come from behind victory. The O's spotted the Brewers a four to nothing lead and then used the long ball, the roar back for the seven to five win. Get off to a great start in the second inning as Bill Schroeder connects for his seventh home run of the year. A long drive to deep right center field. Freddie Lynn goes back in vain, almost makes the play. The Brewers lead it two to nothing. Then we move on to the fifth inning as Ernie Riles rookie shortstop for the Brewers hits this drive deep to right field. Watch Lee Lacey's attempt to make the catch. The Brewers now lead it four to nothing. The Orioles begin their comeback. Rick Dempsey lines his double off the wall in right center field. Rick Manning back to the wall cannot get it. He's retrieving it the other way and by the time he does Gary Renneke and Fritz Connolly scored is now four to two in the Orioles sixth Eddie Murray ties the score with his ninth home run of the year. but only his first batting right handed. And the Orioles' comeback continues. Barry Sheets pinch hitting for Mike Young lines his single to center field. It will score Cal Ripken and the Orioles take the lead five to four. In the eighth, Ripken follows with his 10th home run of the year. The Orioles now lead it 6 to 4. Pitcher Bob Gibson for the Brewers is not through yet. Gary Renegade, the very next hitter, hits his fifth home run of the year. And the Orioles now lead it 7 to 4. The Orioles go on to win it 7 to 5 as the Brewers pick up a meaningless run in the ninth inning. Tomorrow at the stadium, the Orioles try and get out the broom with Mike on the mound going for his 7. Another score in the American League as we look at the Oriole score. Toronto lost to Boston for the third time in a row. Two bases loaded walks by Gary Lavelle in the eighth provided the win. Oakland over Cleveland, eight to six. Chicago and California, Chicago leading one to nothing in the fourth. And we have Detroit leading the Yankees, seven to six in the sixth. The Houston Astros failed an oral exam today in Houston. Dodger right -hander oral hersheiser proved to be too tough. as the Dodgers won 3 -0. Let's move to the action. Astros manager Bob Lewis and Cot Deal are trying to get some information. The Dodgers' Steve Yeager provides the wrong number with this blue single. Mike Marshall rumbles in to score, and the Dodgers take a 1 -0 lead. Now in the sixth inning, Pedro Guerrero smashes his eighth home run of the month of June. His twelfth for the season overall, and the Dodgers lead it 3 -0. The last out of the game. Laurel Hershiser on the mat, a ground ball by Denny Walling. Steve Sachs ranges far to his right, spins and throws walling out on a close play. Oral Hershiser records his sixth win on a three -hitter. Other scores in the National League. San Diego leading the Giants, one to nothing in the sixth inning as you look at the Dodgers in Houston, three to nothing. St. Louis shut out the Cubbies, two to nothing. The Stars continue their roller coaster ride to the playoffs. After scoring just seven points last week in Birmingham, they crushed the Orlando Renegades today. Let's say they're leading the Orlando Renegades 41 to 3. Things don't get off too well for the Stars, though. In this opening drive, Chuck Fusina drops a pass off to Kelvin Bryant. He fumbles. Orlando recovers, and it doesn't look good at this point for the Stars. The Stars defense holds, and Kelvin Bryant will follow with a 7 -yard touchdown run. As he high steps into the end zone, the Stars lead at 7 to 3. The Stars take a 21 -to -3 lead on this pass to the end zone, 16 -yard pass from Kucina to James Kaver, 21 -to -3 Stars. The Stars block this punt. Tom Donovan makes the block. After a scramble around the end zone, he recovers it himself. Watch this man. Is he happy? Watch this flip. The Donovan, fantastic. 28 -to -3. As I said, the Stars are now leading that game. 41 to 3. Slow, cold, rainy, and miserable weather with the companions for the golfers during the third round of the US Open. As they chase second round leader T .C. Chen. T .C. for tough competitive. The gallery is well covered and bundled at Oakland Hills Country Club in Birmingham, Michigan. Leader T .C. Chen in the parent trouble on the second hole. Watch this shot out of the rough. Bingo. Nothing to it. Chen drops in as birdie to go seven under par. He drained that one. Jay Haas, a little further back in the pack, misses this attempt at Bird at the eighth green. Haas started the day at seven seconds in second place, and he dropped five strokes back. On the same hole, Chen drains this for a four -footer to take a four -shot lead. Plenty of action in racing today at Bowie. So let's check the results of the seventh, eighth, and ninth races. In the seventh, Jane's Dilemma. The three -one played 26 -40. In the eighth race, apple gaffing, $3 .60, $13. In the ninth race, what a disaster, the 4 .11, $65 .40, the 4 .11, $7, $4 ,062 .90. And that's it.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948#t=1400.0,1728.54
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948/transcript/77119/annotation/52
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948#t=1728.79,1729.73
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948/transcript/77119/annotation/53
Speaker 10: That's not enough. We can't change everything, but we can't change the weather. We can't change anything at all. Now think about it. Let's take a look outside. Look at that rain. It's coming down. We'll take the instant eye outside now. There they are driving through it all. Be careful out there because the roads are slick tonight. Our temperature downtown is a little bit warmer. It's 66 at the airport. It's about 68 downtown. The winds from the southeast at 6, humidity 94 percent, barometer is 29 .97, and it is falling. Here's your next tides. The low will be at 1123 right now. Ooh, that's five minutes. That's all ground watch. High will be at 640 tomorrow morning, and there's your sunrise and your sunset. The showers have dissipated a little bit, but they will be on and off all night long, and tomorrow as well. As I said, there will be some sunshine. So wherever you are right now, there is possibility of a shower tonight. In the 60s to the west, in fact, 58 up in Pittsburgh, over to the east. It's sixty -seven in Dover, sixty -nine for Salisbury. To the south though, warmer temperatures, seventy -three for Richmond, seventy -four in Norfolk. That's what's happening. We've got a warm front that's coming through and it's bringing the showers and the thunders showers with it. The next to the warm front is also a cold front. We're going to get a little double whammy from this. Sixty -three in Frederick and Hagerstown and sixty -nine for Washington. Take a look at the cloud cover. I'll show you what's coming our way. Here it is, a little bit of cloud activity here and you see it through Pennsylvania, it kind of travels down right into our area. that's what's going to happen this it's it's a really weak cold front that's going to go through tonight along with a warm front that kind of trails out to the ocean so we'll get that that'll get out of the way we have high pressure coming for monday which will give us a nice day however on monday it's not a it's a weak high but it's very weak so what's going to happen is not going to do like most highs do come in and give us cooler temperatures at all what's going to happen it'll be a normal day it'll be high about ninety and the humidity will be lower look at this mess down in florida let me show you this The radar shows everything that's happening down there. They've had tremendous rainfalls down in Florida, Georgia, down all the way through the southeast, and that's gonna be going on for the next few days. On the forecast map, we'll show you exactly what's happening. The high pressure I talked about will be coming through, so Monday will be a nice day, but the humidity still will be there with us. It still will be a 90 -degree day. There's a cold front moving rapidly across the country. That'll come through on Tuesday with showers, thundershowers. Behind that, there's high pressure right here. Now, that's gonna be nice. That'll be nice high pressure. Good old, this guy's already a good guy. You're nice. Nice high pressure. We'll be in the middle 70s by the end of the week. Let's take a look at our forecast for tonight, then. It's going to be mostly cloudy. There's a couple of showers tonight, overnight low of 62 for tomorrow. Dad, this is for you. Clouds. Humid. Chance of thunder showers. High of 83. So that's the way it should be tomorrow. I'm sorry. But there will be, as I say, some sunshine. And you'll be able to get a few things outside. But I still think they should have.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948#t=2748.85,2918.5
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948/transcript/77119/annotation/92
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948#t=2919.759,2920.16
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948/transcript/77119/annotation/93
Speaker 14: Father's Day in the fall, excuse me, Kenny Singleton's over on the other side, but they want to sit and watch footballs with dads.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948#t=2919.66,2924.44
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/144437/file/266948/transcript/77119/annotation/94
Speaker 1: Yeah, you do have a point. The Orioles beat the Milwaukee Brewers today seven to five at the stadium. They combine the strong relief pitching of Nate Snell with power hitting to rally to victory. In the Brewer's second, Bill Schroeder's home run to deep center field. Watch Freddie Lynn's attempt to make this play. Freddie's been known to go into a wall or two. Brewer's two to nothing at this point. The Brewers led four to nothing when the Birds started their comeback. Rick Dempsey's double high off the wall in left center field scores two runs and halves the Brewer lead. In the sixth inning, Eddie Murray's ninth home of the year with Freddie Lynn on base ties the score. And he's ninth of the year, but his first right -handed. still in the sixth inning Larry Sheets with a line drive pinch single the center field and he owes go ahead to stay five to four Cal Ripken plating the run for the Orioles in the Orioles Cal Ripken slugs his 10th home run of the year deep into the seats way up beyond the exit Gary Renneke the very next hitter picks on Bob Gibson's next serve and sends that up where Ripken hit his. and now it is seven to four birds. The O's go on to win the ball game seven to five. Tomorrow they'll send Mike Botticker to the mound as the O's go for the sweep of the Brewers. Botticker will be going for his seventh win of the season. Today in the American League we've got some action from games on the East and West Coast. A beautiful day at Yankee Stadium, a beautiful day for the hitters that is. Right in the first inning Darrell Evans jumps on a Phil Negril knuckleball, drives it into the lower deck. It is already four to nothing in favor of the Detroit Tigers. Nuxie not very happy as the Yankees fall behind very early. In the fifth inning, Don Manningly drops down this bunt. Jack Morris fires it in the right field. But George Steinbrenner is still not very happy as the Yankees go on to lose 10 to eight. Angels White Sox in Anaheim. Gary Pettis with his fly ball to left field. Reggie Jackson tags a third, comes in the score. It is now two to one in favor of the Angels. But in the seventh inning with the score tied at two. Harold Baines lines this double to left center field. Rudy Law is off with the pitch. Bryan Downing slips and Law scores all the way from first base. The White Sox now taking a game and a half lead in the west. In other games in the American League, it's Boston over Toronto, 7 to 5. Oakland over Cleveland, 8 to 6. Texas leading Minnesota, 10 to 2 now in the 8th. That's an update. And Kansas City and Seattle, nothing, nothing in the first inning. In the National League, the Dodgers, 3 to nothing over Houston. San Diego 1 -0 over the Giants, another shutout. St. Louis 2 -0 over the Cubs. Philadelphia trounced the Pirates 13 -3. And Montreal beat the Mets, edged them 3 -2. Atlanta over Cincinnati 5 -0 in the third inning, that is. The Stars qualified for the playoffs today in the USFL thanks to Memphis beating Jacksonville. They scored only seven points last week in Birmingham, but this week in College Park the floodgates open against the Orlando Renegades. The final score was 41 to 10 in favor of the Stars. Stars with the ball. Kelvin Bryant makes a seven -yard dash, and the score is now stars seven to three. Baltimore makes it 21 to three, as Chuck Fucina hits James Carver in the corner of the end zone with a 16 -yarder. Great catch by Carver. Now, Baltimore goes for the kill. Tom Donovan blocks this Orlando punt after a mad scramble near the end zone. Donovan recovers it himself, and the stars lead it 28 to three. Check out this flip by Donovan. I gave him a ten on that, but the Russian judge only gave him a four. Now to fourth quarter action. Stars on the Orlando two yard line, a play action pass. Bryant for his second touchdown of the game. Baltimore running away, thirty -eight to three. Finally, with about three minutes remaining, the Stars' David Trout kicks this fifty -one yard field goal to make it forty -one to three. The final score, Baltimore forty -one to ten. With harsh weather at Birmingham, Michigan, it turned out to be a day of survival for golfers at the third round of the U .S. Open. and like the two previous rounds, T .C. Chen was still the leader.
