Police technicians and bomb sniffing dogs searched the building after students were sent home early yesterday morning. No bombs were found. Threat was posted in a Trenchcoat Mafia website on Saturday and police say they checked the school over the weekend. Now, county police are trying to track down the writer of that Internet message. Dr. Carol Allen is a pediatrician who worries the toy could be another ploy to get kids interested in smoking. It looks like the mechanism of how you would light a cigaret lighter. That is, you have to flick it down and then it makes a light. And children certainly can get into trouble from lighting either lighters or matches without realizing they're dangerous. A McDonald's spokesperson told me all their toys pass strict federal safety test. And the fast food giant is not trying to promote smoking. They say the toy was not designed to look like a lighter, looks nothing like a cigaret lighter. But any problems with this thing at all? No. No. Do you think it might encourage kids to want to play with real cigaret lighters? I think a lot of that will have to depend on kids parents. If the kid's parents are smoking and they have a lighter in the house, it's probably going to remind them a lot about their mom and dad's lighter. No, I would not say a cigaret lighter. He gets very frustrated because he knows it's an orange, but he just can't see that. Next is Anne Marie Holter. She's an intensive care unit over at Swedish Medical Center. She was shot in the chest. And doctors tell me that she was literally within minutes of dying. She had to have her chest opened right in the emergency room to have her aorta, a major blood vessel clamped open. And the doctors told me that I work with that. Had this been an older person, they probably would not have survived. Lance Kirkland is still in critical condition at Denver Health Medical Center. He was also shot multiple times. He's had three surgeries so far, including one ten hour surgery on Saturday to just repair some facial wounds from gunshots to the face. But he is in stable condition despite the fact that he is still critical. Casey Ruzicka had five hours of surgery yesterday on her shoulder at the Limb Preservation Institute. Well, there may be war in the Balkans, death, destruction and misery, but one apparently senseless killing here has shocked this country even more than all that awful. The murder the police are now investigating here appears to have been clinical, one close range shot to the head and baffling. I heard the scream. It was the killing of someone an entire country loved. Jill Dando was one of those TV personalities who combined a fresh girl next door look with a natural glamor and nonchalant sex appeal. The camera loved her as much as the rest of the country. There was nothing she couldn't do on TV. Rising to national fame a decade ago as a news anchor. There's one story this morning the dramatic end of the Gorbachev era in the Soviet Union. But she soon branched out, winning audiences and hearts along the way. She did a popular travel program in which the residents of this often damp island got to visit exotic destinations through her. And in what now has a tragic irony to it, for years, she had anchored a program in which crimes were recreated to jog the public's memory, leading to many cases being solved, but not so far heard. A terrible price to pay for being lovely and famous. Her own tragic murder mystery has not just shocked the country, it shocked her normally hard nosed news colleagues who have had to report it. Hello again. I'm Don Scott. And I'm Kelly Lynn. Here's what people are talking about today. Anyone who is on the upper part of the Beltway or on the Kennedy Highway this morning has got to be still talking about what a slow go it was because one backup burgeoned into several with the epicenter to them all in the area. Sky Chopper 13 is hovering over for us live right now. The section of Interstate 95 that runs south of the Beltway up near Whitemarsh Mall, taking travelers to both harbor tunnels. As you can see, traffic volumes are back to normal or even a little less than normal there right now. However, some routes that were used as alternates this morning are still said to be messed up. But whatever the scale of any residual slowdown going on out there right now has to pale with what we witnessed earlier. This is the phenomenal backup sky Chopper 13 looked down on this morning. It spread north on 95 for at least ten miles in western the Beltway for almost the same. And down there is the reason a flatbed trailer that lifted on its own as a semi-tractor pulled it along I-95 until it slammed into that overhead sign. A commuter traveling along side saw it before it happened. I saw it lifting up and tried to flash my lights and my horn to get him to stop to avoid an accident. But he wasn't stopping. So I backed away when I realized it was going to hit. And unfortunately, I got hit by the flying axle and luckily no one was hurt. I swerved to my left. Same story at Woodlawn High School and perhaps go high this morning. No bombs were found. It's important to mention that calling in a false threat is against the law. Sally Warner is live in the studio with the latest on this Sally. Kelly, we told you yesterday that investigators think the 18 year old girlfriend of one of the gunmen was involved. Well, now police think she bought as many as two of the weapons at a gun show a week after the deadliest school shooting in U.S. history. Investigators have not made any arrests and are still facing many key questions. Among them, did Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold have help carrying explosives into Columbine High School? Did anyone purchase weapons for the shooters? We're under the impression that someone assisted them in that who and win or are still kind of unclear to us right now.
