By noon, Burns had already traveled through four of the city's six districts. But the west side here is kind of foreign politically to the east side Democrat. So the strategy here is not only to identify himself with some of the problems of this district, but also to identify himself as friends of those who represent the district. Burns admits he's not familiar with other parts of the City other than his home district. Gentlemen are pleased offering your piece. Please take some. Okay crew. You guys didn't have some too a hot day in Baltimore I got up to 95 in the city. This is the hottest day of the summer hottest day the year actually at the airport 89 degrees currently under Generally clear skies 87 degrees humidity 55% that will be getting a little better lowering a little bit getting more comfortable this weekend, especially tomorrow the winds west northwest at around 12 the barometer 2986 it's steady air quality this afternoon 87 put us in the moderate range and your tides tomorrow look like this tomorrow's high tide 803 in the morning low tide 259 in the mornin sunrise 541 sets tonight 837 it was a scorcher today the hottest temperature we've had all year although the bay breeze came in just at the right time and cooled off Areas right close to the water only stayed in the upper 80s. So downtown It's a good day to be sticking your feet in that nice cool fountain. By the way, the bay water temperature now, 70 degrees. Ocean water temperature, 66 degrees. Ocean City is going to be a wonderful place to be this weekend. In fact, anywhere in the state, a lovely weekend. Let's take a look at radar. There is nothing on the way of radar and the way precipitation. This is all ground clutter. Our satellite picture tonight shows you beautiful, beautiful skies. A little weak frontal system, as you can see, these very thin clouds move across the region this afternoon. And we might. We thought we might see a thundershower, but nothing. No thunderschower activity at all. I think the cake is gone, by the way. And there's a funnel system right through our region, and it's moving in a southerly direction. It'll continue to move that way, and drier weather from the northwest will start to dominate our picture. Clear weather generally along the East Coast. This weekend, everywhere you go along the east coast will be sunny, warm, and rather pleasantly dry. Temperatures in the 80s to perhaps the low 90s by Sunday. Let's take a look at tomorrow's map. We've got a pretty easy forecast. The next 24 to 48 hours look very pleasant. There you go. High pressure ridge all on the East Coast. The only showers along the East will be along the Gulf Coast. Some moisture down there could set up some thunderstorms in that vicinity. Further West, a weak funnel system. I don't think this will even get to our region. So therefore we're looking for a high pressure ridge to build in, continue to give us warm summer weather until next week. Now by early next week, these highs will be offshore, setting up a Bermuda high, allowing More humidity come back in, so early next week, Monday and Tuesday, will seem a little bit stickier and will be more uncomfortable than tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be a picture perfect day. Low humidity, around 35 to 40 percent. Temperatures in the mid-80s, a really lovely day. Around the state now, temperatures are in the upper 80s in most places, low 90s in Richmond. Winds tomorrow out of the northwest, 10 to 22 miles an hour. Ocean City forecast tomorrow, high of 78, a high of 79 on Sunday with Sunday skies. Water temperature around sixty five to seventy Right now it's pretty warm up in the upper 80s right now. Forecast for the region tonight, clear and comfortably warm and actually temperature is gonna get rather pleasant by tomorrow morning, 60 to 66 degrees. Tomorrow, sunny, a beautiful day, 86 degrees, low tomorrow night, wonderful. Open those windows, 58 to 66 degree. About 88 or so on Sunday and in the mountains, five to eight degrees cooler this weekend than here in the city. So pretty nice weekend anywhere. Well, you guys did a heck of a job on this case.
text/plain
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149171/file/273797#t=1326.09,1560.56
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149171/file/273797/transcript/80292/annotation/74
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149171/file/273797#t=1561.87,1563.15
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149171/file/273797/transcript/80292/annotation/75
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149171/file/273797#t=1563.2,1564.12
https://marmia.aviaryplatform.com/collections/948/collection_resources/149171/file/273797/transcript/80292/annotation/76
Speaker 1: No, if you could have stretched out the weather 30 more seconds, Al, I could have finished the whole thing. Play at Wimbledon. Three time Wimbldon champ Chris Everett-Lorde was beaten by Kathy Jordan by the score of 6-1-7-6. The loss stopped Chris from winning the grand slam but she was more upset today at being dumped in the third round of Wimbleton. In her 12 previous appearances she had never failed to make the semifinals. She'd made the finals believe it or not the last five years. Jordan 23 years old from Pennsylvania had never taken a set from Chris until today. This is Jordan serving. She ran away with the first set, was down 5-3 in the second, rallied and beat Everett Lloyd in a tiebreaker. And we're going to take a look at some of the other scores today at Wimbledon. Again, it was Chris Everett-Lloyd over Kathy. Jordan Andrea Yeager beat Susan Leo. It was the seventh seed, Wendy Turnbull, over Wendy White. Billie Jean King over old friend Rosie Casals. Barbara Potter beat Camille Benjamin. For the men, Jimmy Connors was a winner today, as was Kevin Curran, and as was Brian Gottfried. There was, as always, racing at Bowie this afternoon. Let's take a look at the final three, the seventh race. The 5.3 Xacta paid $36.60. In the eighth race, the 2.1 Xacto paid $9.80. The ninth race, The 7.3 paid $20.40. And the 7.39 Triple, $227.10.
